Can't say I like it. Why put ourselves on a short week if we don't have to?

Unless I'm mistaken or mixing up my teams, Monday is an off-day each week for ND. The off-day just gets eliminated. It's one less recovery day, but it's also week 1. No bumps and bruises built up yet to be concerned about that extra day.

Plus, the reward of getting away from an insanely crowded and awesome slate of games on Saturday night.

UNC-Georgia
Clemson-Auburn
Wisconsin-LSU
UCLA-aTm
USC-Bama

I like it because other fan bases will whine more about how ND get special treatment.

This is great. Prime time Sunday night of a holiday weekend. That's awesome. The whole country will get to watch us put another beat down on the Longhorns!

Love it......

Unless we lose to Texas or Nevada, then I will change my mind and blame this choice.

I wonder if either school would have done it if they had a high tier P5 the following Saturday? Thankfully UT had UTEP up next.

Gonna cost us two days of work on Monday but we'll be there with a full Saturday to retrace my 6th St shenanigans I perpetrated on my OV to Texas waaaaaay back in 1980something. Hopefully the statute of limitations have run up.

Also looking forward to going out to the Oasis on Lake Travis:

Savvy Jack says the move was to give ND-Texas a "special place on the the Labor Day sports calendar."

Power move. That Saturday slate is loaded.

My first reaction was "shit, might as well put in for my PTO the following Monday now"...then read this post and realized it is the holiday weekend!! Love it.

Sure that's a good idea? I'll be with a boat load of Cubs fans and the Cubbies head to St Louis the next day to rape, pillage and plunder. Of course as a Sox fan, i could just referee the festivities. lol

We'll tip one or 12. I just talked to the real jojoblack, he's coming in with us. He's an Indians fan so he's harmless.

*Check that... The Cubs are in Houston and then St Louis the following weekend. Damn.

Playing Notre Dame on the Sabbath has to be a bad omen for Longhorn fans, no?

Don't really care either way but I do enjoy reading NDNation when something like this happens.

I'm hoping this will be my first Notre Dame away game

Good luck, that would be one hell of a first road game to go too. I've seen ND play at Ross Ade three times, one being 2007 noon start...we got our ass kicked.

The last time was in 2013 sitting right behind the PU bench...we should have won that game by much more. Regardless, the "W" was a win.

That was my first ever ND away game. Sat in a Purdue section, some PU fan threw up all over the guy in front of him, guy in front didn't even notice for 10 minutes. Purdue is straight up filth, man.

Will drive the 200 miles from Dallas on Sunday morning, and spend post game in far north Austin. Venue is a good one, nice game scene. Saturday night on 6th Street should be fun for those arriving on Saturday.
