All this lack of "athleticism" talk is kind of a bogus argument. Stanford has clearly shown time and again that if you play sound, disciplined football and keep to your assignment you can crush "faster" and more "athletic" teams. That's exactly what ND did on defense last year. As for Bama they were the total package of all that.

Stanford also is more athletic than us. Which helps make them look more athletic than us.

Based on what metric? Definitely not recruiting rankings. Seems like you're just pulling that one out of your posterior.

Not really. Definitely not on O save the QB position. D is a bit of a wash in terms of "athleticism"... the only position where their players are definitively more athletic is ILB.

I'll take Stanford at LB and both safety positions all day. Everything else is on defense is close to a wash, but those two spots are huge.

We'll see when we play them.

I'd say probably safety right now too, but other than that I think you are spot on, as usual.

I don't think their safeties are more athletic, they're just smarter and are usually in the right place at the right time. Shumate and Farley are both very athletic, they just need to learn to play the position better.

It's sad to see a kid BLOW his ride for being a JERK. He clearly had too much time on his HANDS. No need to TUG AWAY at this issue until more details are RELEASED.

hate to be the one who doesn't continue the joke but I wasn't going to open this. Glad I did.

It really got me off this morning.

It isn't just that you all carried it on, it is that you carried it on round the clock!

It is not a reach to say it is the same cast of characters that I can always count on! Full circle, so to speak.

Are you saying a reach around is wrong?
