Interesting choice of word.

How is going out to drink putting themselves in a compromising position? You feel that they caused embarrassment to you (I say you since you used "our current state of national embarrassment") and thus you feel that they shouldn't go out.

What do you think that the national media would say if a bunch of non-suspended football players were out at a bar and got in a fight? The only difference would be the already suspended part, but it wouldn't be drastically different. You are taking your personal feelings and attaching it to this situation. That is fine, just admit to it.

Also how are adults going out for a drink embarrassing?

Personally I wouldn't be going out to clubs (well for that matter I hate clubs and avoid them like the plague, give me a nice pub or sports bar) and would be more likely to hang out in my room but I am not them, and there is nothing embarrassing about what they are doing, it might be different then what you would choose to do but that doesn't make it embarrassing.

Edit: I am not saying that it is the best choice to make nor the one that I would recommend, just that I find the wording of embarrassing objectionable.

Yes... because i'm the only one that is embarrassed by it. Nobody else... ok then.

Believe what you want, dude.

I'm not going to keep typing responses to you over and over, just for you to respond "how are adults going out for drinks embarrassing". I facking told you, I typed out a bunch of responses outlining my exact thoughts on specifically why I thought it was embarrassing. Other than to completely change my mind, apologize to you for not walking lock step in your opinion, kissing your feet, etc... what else can I possibly do to explain my side of the debate to you? I think I have been pretty clear. Nothing wrong with disagreeing with me, but by no means have I not been specific in my points.

Our starting quarterback was at the Hangge Up some Saturdays after the game (including some losses) and he was still capable of throwing incompletes on the roll out the following week. I fail to see what the big deal is.

It's not.

But imagine if one of them busted both of his ankles jumping off of the club roof drunk then came up with a crazy cover up about jumping off of a balcony to save a girl who was being kidnapped... now THAT would be embarrassing! Good thing humanity is better than that.

He was part of a team that played and won/loss that day. Pretty stark difference between going for drinks after a game and going to the bar every night while the university and team are being investigated for possible NCAA violations I caused.

Did you just go from third person to first person, or are you saying you're the rat? OMG!

this is awesome.

Now we have to have eye witnesses to prove that somebody wasn't doing what you think they were.

That hurts my brain.

How do you know they didn't not do what the others did? Presume the worst, or better yet, do that asshattery exercise known as "Schrodinger's Cat" where you presume both. KVR and DD were both out and not out at the bar and therefore we can't do anything besides tickle ourselves in the dark with Occam's razor waiting on the bedside table.

So we need to pm koon directly then?

I can neither confirm nor deny my level of enjoyment if the whole site did that. Having said that, we don't need threads continuing to get clogged with PM requests, and you're confusing various users and making them feel left out.

Thank you. I just want to feel included. Is that too much to ask??

This is really the only takeaway from this whole "scandal."

I wonder if the administration realizes how big of a PR disaster it would be to announce findings/vacating wins/dismissals during Michigan week. I know they don't care, but talk about a huge distraction... especially if game day comes to ND.

This is one of my big issues with the administration being apparently so determined to be a separate entity from the football team. I get the principle, but they really need to understand that for 90% of people, ND football is the only thing notable about a small private catholic school in the Midwest. Like it or not, it's your face to the American public, so you should at least try to make it look good. Instead it seems like, from my outsiders perspective, that there are some in the administration who attempt to do this stuff at the worst possible times or in the worst possible ways. I don't know if they're just pissed that the football team is a bigger brand than they want or what, but sometimes it almost seems vindictive.

Edit: I meant to ask if I was right in feeling this or if they really are just tone-deaf or if we're just that misfortunate.

Edit 2: Should I PM Koon to find out?

I never expected you to believe what I believe, and lord knows I don't want you kissing my feet (who knows where your mouth has been with you and your dancing up on fatties at the clubs). I was just trying to point out that I think you are projecting your feelings about the academic investigation (which is embarrassing) onto what these young men are doing currently (going to clubs) and that that isn't necessarily fair to them.

So...just two weeks and almost 4.5 hours since OP, and what exactly have we settled with 3720 posts?

That the business school is named after Tom Mendoza, and that Greyhammer and Lax got into a lovers quarrel and are now back to bromancing it up. Oh and that currently 5 players are suspended and the won't be playing vs Rice.

Deleting my posts trying to get people to inundate you with PM requests is an abuse of mod powers. I object! You're out of order, this whole site is out of order. I want the truth! I can handle the truth! I'm a 40-year old man.

Anyone going with the season beard. Starting tomorrow growing that shit thru the season?

It's called 'No Shave Notre Dame win streak!' I did for 2012, and started last year until, ya know, Michigoon. Better believe it starts again tomorrow!

Wow, everyone fighting over who's opinions are right and wrong. All because one guy saw players out. Like I said before the place they were at couldn't have been too "happening" if the person who saw them posted on a discussion board

Hypothetically speaking, if KMoore is found guilty of the charges at hand, does the administration have the power to retroactively withdraw his undergraduate degree?

I was wondering this the other day.
