I have to reply (even though it probably furthers the silliness of the thread).
You're assuming that people who don't project Cam as a major contributor/starter/2-deep player are somehow "disrespecting" him or that we can't see his character. I think we all LOVE Cam. He's clearly a hard worker and has some skills. It's not disrespectful on a Notre Dame football board to try to offer an honest assessment of a player's skills. That doesn't mean we're right, but it also doesn't mean we're slighting him.
Your logical leap is this: If you think others on the team are more talented or better than Cam, you're disrespecting him. I would argue that disrespect looks a whole lot different than, "I don't think he's good enough to start in this backfield because we have so much talent there."
It's possible that he'll be a huge contributor, even a featured back. I'd be delighted for that to happen. I'd like the best RBs to get the bulk of the time. If that's him, wonderful! I'm just trying to talk about football.
Time will tell on all of this.
Actually, you are reading everything from "You're" to "Time will tell on all of this", into what I am saying.
I don't know if Cam will be good. I don't know if he will get a shot. All I am saying is based upon what I have seen of his attitude, selflessness, work ethic, and camaraderie, I would give him a shot. Sometimes giving that team guy, the one who isn't the top talent pays off. And I think that people that decry him, me for thinking he is okay, or anyone else who does, isn't.
You are a fine respectful poster, but if you look back at this thread, you can see who is respectful and who is not.
