I haven't seen any collective outrage or SJW'ing from the mainstream... just a bunch of "boy that sounds kind of problematic."

On one hand, I get it... he was basically admitting to his past racism, and the interviewer let it slide after his takeaway was "revenge is bad," rather than "going after people because of their skin tone is bad."

On the other hand, I'm almost thinking that people misunderstood what he was trying to say... he knew the guy that did it was black, so he was looking for a black guy to beat up.

Idk. Good for him for being open about it and admitting his past faults, but bad job by the interviewer. You've gotta press more about the racism angle. And not to generate outrage or to vilify someone... it's just good journalism based on all of the basic principles of the profession.

I don't know, seems like journalism is a dying profession, at least not how it once was perceived. People want exposure, and they'll do whatever they can to get it. Short of your local news station and organizations like Reuters, it seems like good, honest journalism is getting harder and harder to find.

Some people will make much ado about nothing, and call for a boycott. Instead, we should focus on the positives here:
-Realized he was wrong
-Sought help through his faith and others
-Is speaking about a real experience, and how rage can blind a person
-Revenge gets you nowhere
-Racism can sometimes (a lot of the time?) be quashed by a person, and they can learn.

They get mad because it's a white man and it's black history month (it's the March issue); March is women's history month (it's a men's magazine)....Holy hell.
