I can't say I've seen one play this season where our DBs have been physical. At all.

Defense is as efficient on 3rd down as the offense is in the red zone

Pre-post game thoughts

1) This defense would get run against Alabama. They would put up 42 on us easily. I fucking hate BVG's defense. It doesn't work in the NFL (see Rob Ryan) and it doesn't work in college.

2) If we lose this game it is because we couldn't stop anybody. Looking at Stanford's offense, they aren't that other-worldly great. We are making them look like world beaters.

3) Our pass rush is god-awful. Thankfully we are recruiting more elite pass rushers in this class and next, but we need to add a DT to this class or we run the risk of not being able to put a full defensive line together at the same time.

4) I cannot wait for Schmidt to retire.

5) We seriously need some cover corners. Luke isn't great and Butler to me is a 'depth' safety. We need 2 more cover CB in this class because I think most of our DB recruits actually fit better at safety, and not corner. The one true CB we have coming in is a bit of a smurf.

6) Where the hell are our TE packages? That would help loosen up the offense in the red zone. Every team in America seems to use those plays but us.

7) We are not a playoff team yet. I thought it was a year early and I was correct. That's ok and says we may be a step further than originally thought, but I am glad we likely won't make the top 4. I think we get run by whomever we play because of the defense.

8) The offensive line is great. The RB's are great and I think we will have massive depth next year. The QBs are deep, and the WR talent is great. But where is the depth on defense?????

Told you we need to score from further out lol. We are like Happy Gilmore when he thinks it is easier to get a hole-in-one on a par 4 than to putt.
