I predicted ND would destroy Marshall so this time I’m going with Stanford by atleast 24. ND comes out flat and Pyne looks terrible, Mayer has at least 4 drops and the defense gives up big play after big play

Insert generic: "Oh man, we got blown out/Drew Pyne plays that poorly" joke...

I fully expect Angeli to come in for garbage time and promptly hand the ball off 3 times for a first down, and then another 3 times which will result in a stop and punt. Then Stanford will run the clock out.
I’d like you to meet MFMF,…

38-3,… Angels comes in,… 3straight deep shots like a baller and after the pick six and it’s 38-10 we do it all over again.

Hope to see Angeli
There's a lot of ways this one can go...

But I'm going to assume you meant Pyne stays healthy, we kill the Cardinal, and Angeli gets mop up time.

This is just another one of those games that it should be over at half time. This year not a single game has been like that. UNC was close and BYU was close but the defense gave up big plays in both and then the offense failed to produce points against BYU.

But it’s a night game 3 wins in a row and coming off an awesome experience for the team in Vegas. This streak stops with the Trees.(I’ll probably be wrong)

45 - 23 with a late TD for Stanford. The running backs have another outstanding game. Thomas is the leading receiver. Foskey is non existent again but Jayson A comes away with 2 huge sacks. Steve Angeli gets the last 2 offensive drives of the game. We come away with 3 turnovers and Freeman has his easiest game yet.

UNC was close?

What makes me a little nervous is that Shaw plays BS games. We have a QB that looks to sideline for green light before snap. I don’t remember what yr, but we had a QB do that against Stanford; could’ve been Tommy. Shaw knew this coming in and had his D set up early. Once ND Qb got the green light, before snap Stanford changed D and baited ND into exactly what Stanford D wanted. I can’t remember if ND won that day or not, but ND must be ready for the same shit!

Not sure what you're referring to but tbf, these recent Stanford teams and the Stanford teams Tommy played against are nowhere near equal

I don’t disagree, not saying it was Tommy I can’t remember. But watching it was crazy, it was clear as day what Stanford was doing!
Tommy lost to an 11-1 Andrew Luck led Stanford team in 2011, he left the game injured I believe after taking a shot in the ribs and Hendrix filled in for most the game.
He also lost to a 10-2 Stanford team in 2013 in another close one.
He did come in for an injured Golson in that 2012 overtime game and went 4/4 to help us cap the win and save the undefeated season.
The 2010 game was Dayne Crist. We got absolutely crushed by Luck to the tune of 37-14, their first victory against us since '86.

What a game. I loved that team - so many playmakers all over the field. As soon as I saw the lineup on that first play, I knew it was the Riddickulous catch. I replayed that 5x and still can't believe he caught that pass.

Stanford's injury issue on the OL is critical. They returned all 5 starters from last year plus one more (Jake Hornibrook) who also started some but only three aren't hurt. Nugent at C and Hornibrook at LG are the only guys left at their original positions and we all know how juggling you OLM can be detrimental to your OL performance.
Looks like Jack Leyrer (RT) and Blake Metcalf (RG) are the next men in. They're both 4 star guys who haven't played much. Metcalf will be their fourth option at RG if you include Branson Bragg who won the job last year and retired from football in the summer. Barret Miller and Levi Rogers followed but both are hurt.
LT Rouse is also hurt so the will have to rotate Hinton from RT to LT.
So there's some real opportunities for our DL to shine. Shouldn't need that hated safety blitz at all Saturday night. Or the Joe Schmidt clone blitz package we've all come to love.

The 2009-2017 period of this rivalry is one I wish to forget.

Make it four in a row against these guys tomorrow, please. Just win.

I was thinking about it, is this right?

2018: At ND
2019: At Stanford
2020: Stanford can't come outside to play
2021: At Stanford
2022: At ND

Feels crazy that the last time this annual game was played in South Bend, Jerry Tillery and Cole Kmet were playing in it, and Stanford was a top 10 team.
