I've heard this is a realistic possibility. Conference USA is concerned that WKU is too strong and needs to tone things down.

Sanford will be the next change made at ND within the next five years. Mark it down.
He will be successful at WKU. Successful enough so that when BK steps down on his own, Sanford will be next in line. Jack loves this guy.

That makes a lot of sense. Didn't he coach the O-line at Cinci? Maybe they can have him coach TEs and bring in a new QB coach and replace Booker.

Would love to see Sanford coach ND someday. But hard to see BK here long enough for Sanford to realistically succeed him. Would need three years at least, and very good years, at WKU. Sanford's more like the guy after the next guy.
Meantime. Any chance BK ponies up the money and title to get him to stay? Not even saying it would make sense for Sanford. But worth a shot.

Don't know how losing Sanford makes us a dumpster fire? He was always going to leave here for a HC job.. If he left to be someone else's OC then u can argue, but Him leaving for a HC job is a sign that people want our people... I think its a good thing

I'd love to see ND go after a home run hire at OC... but with Bama and LSU also looking for new OC's, it looks like BK will just stay in house.
Unless Quinn is going to call plays, it doesnt make sense to make him OC.
It wouldnt surprise me at all to see Sanford take Booker with him to WKU. BK gets villified alot on these boards, but to his credit, he seems to take care of his assistants.

Gotta be Denbrock with Quinn moving up to positional coach.
If Quinn were promoted to active staff and jumped right to OC, that would be pretty shitty for Denbrock. As much as I like the idea of BK/Quinn going back to what they did at UC, I don't see BK doing that to Denbrock.
For the love of all things holy, promote Quinn as the tight ends coach so we can get Booker the fuck out of there.

I hope Sanford hires Elston to run his D. He deserves a shot. Now just isn't the time for ND to be that shot.

Elston's pretty good at the recruiting, a talent that would seem a bit wasted at WKU. But, yeah, if he wants to be a DC he's better off leaving Notre Dame.

Losing Sanford hurts. Losing Elston would be a huge blow in my opinion. He's done a really good job as recruiting coordinator and I bet we'd lose at least new recruit if we lost him.

Man I don't care who leaves from the defensive side of the ball...and special teams for that matter. If Wonder boy (said with great respect) likes anything he saw on defense, more power to him for poaching.
The music is slowing, and the available DCs are finding a chair. Hope BK and Jack poached someone already and are waiting to announce. Hiring from within is not going to immediately put ND in the hunt for some 4 and 5 star DTs...need to be....like NOW.
