Finally Graduated

Well after working full time during the day and taking 12-15 hours of engineering classes at night, for spring, fall, and summer semesters... I finally graduated magna cum laude this past Saturday. F'ing 0.03 off a 3.9..... well anyway wanted to share since there is so much good news going around lately. I finally was able to get shithouse drunk for the first time in a long time. I mean sailor on shore-leave drunk.

No more 4 hour nights, no more waking up in the middle of the night to finish a problem I solved while I was sleeping, ..........just a honey-do list a mile and a half long from all the things I avoided or had no time to do.

Take the good with the bad.

Congrats man. Not only did you graduate, but you graduated in one of the few fields that is useful these days in securing employment. Not to mention with a dang good GPA to boot.

I had 19 job offers waiting on me when I walked. The Citadel Engineering School has a job placement within 1 year of graduation in the 80% range.

Luckily I have been and am still employed in a job that pays well and is with a good company. We will see how it plays out. Gotta pass the EIT test and apprentice for four years so got some more work to do but now i get to enjoy my family life and some bourbon.

That's great to hear man! I'm finally finishing my education next Thursday. 7 years of learning (4 undergrad and 3 grad) and it all comes down to the test in July. I can't wait to actually be getting paid for what I've been doing on all my clinicals haha.

Good luck on your exams!

Oh I finished and walked already. I am done done done. Good luck to you.!!!! Dont burn yourself out studying for that July test. I took a week off of work to study for the EIT (8 hour math-athon) and I was wasted by the time I took it.

There's Bourbon and then there is Blanton's. It sounds like this is Blanton's news. Congratulations, you should be very proud of what you have accomplished thus far.

Congrats man. And the most important thing you said is that you already have a job and it pays well. It seems that too many people have a hard time or can't find a job after graduation.

You are right. I want to start my own business so I needed to do it. I did have a lot of offers but none that would pay me what I am making and others that required me to move elsewhere, which I don't want to do right now.

I am proud to say that all of the guys I graduated with left with offers or jobs in hand after graduation.

Outstanding. The harder you work for that degree, the better it feels. Well deserved.

You can pretty much build anything knowing the properties of a circle and a triangle. That goes from a road to a 10-story building.

Congrats! Feels great, doesn't it!
Yes! Still coming down, but I have been operating at such a high level for so long, I honestly don't know where I am at.

Just trying to watch TV and I am like, "I know there is something I need to be doing, or a problem I have to solve" LOL.
