Shocked his parents would put up the money they are sending him to his school and let him go to osu. Now, I dont fully agree that they should stop him from going there or to any school but there was very little time to fully think it out.

If we get Green, I can live with this, but Elliott would've been a great addition. Hopefully we can flip him; I think he had a high ceiling at DB.

Do you think recruiting him as a ATH instead of a RB hurt ND's chances with Elliot.

I don't follow. Can you please rephrase?

Really surprised and disappointed that he chose OSU. I guess there is still plenty of time to try and flip him. Really hope we get Green now.

I understood it to mean that his parents put out 80k for his high school ecucation. TP thought that was a positive for ND landing him, as the value of an ND education in general is much higher that that of an OSU education. Therefore, it seems as if continuing his education at ND follows much more closely with the philosopy set forth by the lad's parents.

I only welcome Irish commits.

Besides, I had to take a paternity test on Maury today.

So if the kid wasn't yours and born out of wedlock, with no father, naturally he's a future Buckeye.

Per 247, ND does not feel like they are out of this. Will stay in contact throughout the process.

I don't know how this got on youtube, but...

I also think it is quite funny the Gene Smith doesn't mention where he went to school.

How telling! I am glad this was posted.

Who did Archie forget? Robert Smith. Interesting. I knew him. I liked him personally, and I know there was bad blood then . . .

Gene Smith is an institutional liar. This was the model of how someone can lie by omission and justify it for the good of the organization they represent. If I were a recruit, and I knew that Gene Smith graduated from ND, I would get up, walk out and call my ND recruiter. Period.

It would have been a little counter productive to say he attended Notre Dame. Is this video within the rules of recruiting or is this another minor recruiting violation signed Urban Meyer?

True. Would anyone expect them to say, "tOSU couldn't find anyone with a tOSU degree suitable for the job so we hired a Notre Dame Man. But through diligent in-house mentoring we have taught him to overcome his Notre Dame ethics."

Gray area, I think. Coaches/schools can not talk publicly about a recruit by name. BUT this appears to me to be a communication made TO that recruit. The question becomes who made it public. IF OSU it should be a minor violation, if Elliott did or his family, no.

I'm also not sure of the Archie Griffin role. IF he's a member of the OSU staff/administration that his video is OK. But if he isn't then he's an alumnus that was obviously recruiting. The NCAA restricts who can do that.

He is head of their alumni association.

I don't think that's a permissible recruiter.

That should be a red flag right there. Recruiting rules exists to prevent Alumni to get directly involve in the recruiting. Perhaps since he is the head of the organization, it is a gray area indeed. Seems a little wrong to me though.

If this is allowed we need to get on this train.

"Hello Malik I'm Joe Montana..."
"Hello Mr. Green I'm Jerome Bettis..."
"Hello Mr. Treadwell, I'm Tim Brown..."
"Hello Mr. Rochell, I'm Justin Tuck..."

That video made me want to vomit. Reminded me of OJ Simpson asking people to please find his wife's killer on TV. Meyer is so freaking slick. He knows exactly what buttons to push with a given recruit.

Pretty sure Archie still has Associate Athletic Director as part of his title, so if its ok for Smith to be on there, its ok for Griffin too.

Also, that video reeks of slimeball.
