The Hamburglar (aka Doug Gottlieb) strikes again.

Ok, maybe there's a lack.. But Ty Nash is one of the best passing/dribbling big men in the country. Jack Cooley is a monster on the boards when he's in the game. He has 42 offensive rebounds in 298 minutes played. That's off the charts good. That equals 0.14 rebounds per minute played. In comparison Nash has 0.08 Offensive rebounds per minute played. 6 wins against top 25 teams. 6 compared to a team like Purdue who has 2 wins..... Were is the justification in there ranking?? Give me a break people.

With all this said, my point is...

ESPN (Doug Gottlieb in particular) are such haters of ND.

Gottlieb needs to grow up and realize that he's a thief and got himself expelled from ND. He's the biggest hater in the media, and I've had it up to here with this guy. The guy is a slime ball, and wouldn't give ND credit even if they went on to win the NCAA Tournament.

Not that anyone is going to be surprised by this but I agree with Gottlieb for the most part. I absolutely think the Irish are a pretender until they can actually make it past the 1st round of the tourney. And he is right about post presense, we really dont have much. Teams are always swallowing us up in the paint and it seems like teams dunk on us at least 15 times a game.

As far as him ranking us 10th? Thats probly about where we should be. Until we can learn to win AND score more than in the 50's when were on the road then we dont have much of an argument.

Away from our own court we lose by an average of 16 points per game and cant score more than the 50's. Thats not good plain and simple.

NDOM, I couldn't have said it better. The recent history of implosion leaves me skeptical of where we atually stand. Even after thrashing Nova last week, I though it really doesn't matter because we'll find a way to blow it in the tourney.

To be fair, a couple of those games came with Scott injured, who has proved hes probably the second most important player on this time behind Ben. He's probably the only one who can actually match elite team's athleticism. I doubt we would get rolled on the road by St. John's and Marquette if we played them now with Scott healthy. Not surprised we lost to Kentucky/Cuse on the road. If we play teams like that in the tourney we're potentially screwed. Just bad matchups. WVU on the road is whatever. If that game were home, I think we would have won easily. I would love to play them again in MSG next week to see who does better on a neutral court. Honestly, if we can avoid super-athletic teams like UNC, Kentucky, Ohio St, Kansas, Texas, Cuse, Tennessee, Kans St, Baylor, Arizona I think we can be fine. I'm really of the opinion Hansbrough is going to will us to the Sweet 16 himself, then it all depends on matchups. If we're playing BYU/SDSU/Wisc/Purdue we should be fine. Duke/Butler were nowhere near the most athletic or best teams on paper last year and they were fine.

He's right to a degree....until we can prove ourselves in the tournament we'll never be that big of a threat...with that said, I still believe we can be an elite8 team this year.It all depends on who we get in the bracket.
And as far as Gottlieb.....the kid was never a real Notre Dame guy anyway....who cares what he says??

Guys, I know I over reacted some. But this isn't the first time Gottlieb as went against the grain on Notre Dame.

The guy still seems to hate the program with passion. And it's his own fault.

I realize Notre Dame isn't as complete as some other teams. ND does rely too much on there 3 point shooting.

I'd just like to see Gottlieb eat crow. That's all I'm asking for.

First of all, this is my first post on the forumn, so I hope I'm not too far out of line.

While I think we're playing some of the best basketball as a team in years, I do have to concede a few points to Gottlieb. Nash is, at times, nasty, but if we run into a team that runs 3 or 4 deep in the post, we may have issues. Also, it's hard to judge if we can pull off the kind of run it takes to hoist the trophy at the end of the tourney.

As a former player, I think we poise a serious threat to make a deep run. I'm a bit worried we may be too dependent on Abro and Psycho-T's brother, but if they can stay healthy and on target, there's no reason we shouldn't be a final four team.

Also, the future looks bright with Atkins.
