Took longer than any of us expected but BK really built a strong program that all but ~4 teams in the country would immediately trade places with. Now is the time to take the next step. These are the type of wins that allowed OSU, Bama, Clemson, and Georgia to start rolling on the recruiting trail.

Have there ever been Co-HCs? Once BK retires maybe Rees and Lea can share duties.

Somehow keep them focused to stay unbeaten. BC will be tough simply because of the let down. NC will be tough because they decent and the anxiety will be high.

Finish strong and win 3 more elite games, get that statue BK.

Kelly has brought this team and program so far. It might've taken longer than what we wanted, but he's now done it.

Watching the game last night, Notre Dame looked like they belonged. Clemson didn't have more team speed. Clemson wasn't stronger or more physical. Notre Dame went punch for punch with one of college football's elite and knocked them out in the end.

I think we can all agree that if Brian Kelly was the head coach at a football factory he would have won at least one national championship by now.

He has way more guts than Urban Meyer who took the easy path, the path of less resistance.

Just over 10 years ago in Brian Kelly’s first year, we had just lost to Tulsa and fell to 4-5. We would win our next game and upset #15 Utah, ending Notre Dames losing streak against ranked teams. We would win out, also ending our losing streak to USC and beat Miami in our first Bowl win against a team other than Hawaii in like whatever many years.

Brian Kelly got here and personally stuck his hand down a clogged toilet to pull Notre Dame out of the sh*t-filled depths it’s never been to before.

Lol that’s an interesting way of explaining it.

I was listening to The Shamrock podcast and Pete or Matt mentioned that this week marks 4 years since that awful loss to Navy in Jacksonville. The one where Ken Niumatalolo challenged a play that couldn't be challenged and stole the game.

Anyways, who could possibly have said after that game that BK would ever beat the #1 team in the country? Absolutely wild.

I'd have said it.

but I'm not a "next financial quarter is everything" type of guy like many on this site.

When BK retires would not mind Luke Fickel roaming our sidelines

For sure. Do we think our timeline would fit with his? Maybe our guy Mickens can be the interlocutor, get him to hold off until BK is ready to go.

Also, how drastic of a scheme change would we expect?

Cincinnati would declare war against South Bend.

He will make another stop before ND would be ready for him. I doubt he has more than 1-2 more years at Cincy. If he wasn't a buckeye at heart I could see him going to Michigan. Fortunately he is a buckeye at heart and I think/hope he would turn them down.

Michigan's entire history of success is predicated on Ohioans. Most of their best coaches (eg Schembechler), 2/3 Heisman winners, many famous alumni (Desmond Howard) are all from Ohio.
