11-1 sec champion Alabama or 11-1 Alabama that lost in the sec championship game? I think ND only gets in over the latter.
I love this debate.
11-1 Notre Dame would make the CFB Playoff. Period.
Teams will lose. OU just lost to Iowa State. No matter how heinous it seems to imagine Team X and Team Y losing, some will lose.
This year doesn't appear to have a frontrunner, UA-Tuscaloosa included.
The team ranked #1 all season that hasn't been tested yet through 6 games isn't a clear front runner?
Well, Chip Kelly just put ND at #5 on his board on ESPN. Gotta admit, it was nice seeing the ND emblem on the board.
We're all setting ourselves up for heartbreak. I was slightly less hyped at the beginning of the season because I figured we wouldn't be good, then the Georgia loss just solidified my opinion. Since then though ND has slowly been ratcheting up my excitement again. Eventually I'm going to be fully on board and we will inevitably lose a head scratcher and kill it all.
Yeah, TBH not wild about all the hype that has developed since last weekend. Remember 2014? There's a lot of season ahead.
What negative effect will the hype have?
What negative effect will the hype have?
On the field? It depends on the character of our team. Though in my experience (20+ years of fandom) Notre Dame tends to do best when expectations are lowest.
For us fans? Crippling disappointment if this team crumples in the tougher back half of the season. We went from "Fire Kelly!" to practically ooking hotel rooms for the playoff awfully quick around here. Could be pretty nasty if, say, we lose three of the next four and it swings back the other way.
Bet on. More than 2 teams will be undefeated this year.
Yucky question... do we root for Michigan @ Penn State next week?
Hoping for #13 in AP. USC should be #10. Miami up to #8 I'd assume.
Besides Navy losing, this was a pretty perfect weekend for our playoff chances.
Come back from vacation and everyone talking about playoffs... truth is no one is going to have any clear picture of scenarios until week 9. Conveninetly, by that point we'll also be through USC and NC State and have a better idea whether ND will even be in the conversation. The next 6 games are a murderers row.
