OFD always does that. they'll have articles on recruits and use images of current ND players instead, probably a licensing issue

Irish illustrated didn't seem to have licensing problem a couple posts up.

The word "clay" is what catches my eye. Between MDT, Taylor, Hayes, Bonner, Tillery, etc. there is something to work with. Let's see what Gilmore can do. I'm really interested to see what, if anything, he can get out of Hayes next year. Kid is gifted athletically but needs to keep his head in the game.

Agreed. The interior has so many bodies and enough athleticism that I think that Gilmore can develop a good rotation. I'm looking forward to seeing the progression.

Very interesting read.

In my eyes, he is 3-tech Notre Dame has needed. He has the ability to straight up clog the middle of the LOS, but also generate enough of a pass rush to collapse the pocket.

I wouldn't say he doesn't have a position in the sense of him finding a place to play. MDT will be able to play three spots on the line if they really need him to.

Ideally, SDE isn't going to be the best spot, but I would bet he can set the edge. If he is a backup at both inside positions, he is going to get a lot of PT.

3-tech is more natural. Like I said earlier, he is a kid that can push the pocket and get into the backfield, which is what you want. I'd get the kid in as many non double-team situations as possible. Let Jarron/Cage and even Tillery eat up some of those doubles at 1-tech and see what MDT can do.

I see him at SDE . Bonner ,Kareem and Treadway give us some good competition there when Isaac is gone.I totally get the 3 tech but if I really want to see more space eaters there like Cage and Tillary.

Anyone else think Matuska gets a look at luatua's spot?

One of those random-ass bumps that the beat-down cynic in me automatically assumes is transfer rumors that inevitably come true.
So, yes, nice to think about what this guy might be able to do in the middle of our defense.

Shitty bump.

Per ISD suffered a foot injury on Monday and will miss "a significant amount of time".

How much was he projected to contribute this year? After Rochelle (dt/de), Tillery, JJones, I am unaware of what the depth chart looks like inside on the DL.

Broken foot per some rumors on 247. He done for 2016 I'm assuming. Big men don't rehab a broken foot mid season.

He was going to play, and it was between him and Elijah Taylor for who's first in behind one of Tillery.

Well per BK's presser, Elijah had essentially won that job. Or was at least getting the second team reps. Taylor was noted as being the 4th DL that will play with a max of 5 DT's expected to play in the rotation. This is most definitely not a sky is falling situation yet. Could it be if we were to lose another guy that was in front of MDT, sure but isn't right now. He's our 3rd string 3T.

Micah was the one Kelly and others pointed out had reshaped his body so well. Rumor was that he was down to three-hundred on the nose.

Too bad about his injury. The kid was showing some fine attitude, apparently.
