Well, it looks kinda like he punches her and not a slap or elbow, but she certainly wasn't knocked unconscious for 5 minutes like the media was saying. Still, no guy should be hitting a girl, even more so when you're talking about well conditioned athletes and the opposition is your average college girl. If it was my player I'd hold him out at least a game. Urban will probably need to do something to help change the stigma of lack of discipline.

I thought she was knocked out cold by the punch? If the punch in this video is the "the punch"... i envisioned it much differently. He's still a scumbag none the less.

I believe the initial reports did say she was knocked out cold for five minutes.

“@SportsCenter: Ohio State RB Carlos Hyde will be suspended for at least first 3 games of 2013. Hyde led Buckeyes in scoring a year ago.”

Back in time for a little tune up versus vs Florida A&M and then for Sconnie. Misses Cal, Buffalo & SDSU

"Treat women with respect.... treat bit*h*s with a slap."

Can't rep you again yet.

I wasn't expecting Urban to give him 3 games myself. Guys have gotten less games for worse, just sayin'...but yeah, with that backfield they're not going to miss him for those first 3 games, they'll be in good shape

Video of the Carlos Hyde incident.

Carlos Hyde Video - News Radio 610 WTVN

He comes in around 2:20
Things pick up around 3:12

My take away from the video is that "B*tch if you don't know how to shake it, get the f*ck off the stage where everyone can see you..." Girl on the far left, I'm talking to you...Oh, and Carlos Hyde isn't right for hitting a girl...

I will say this though...I would never put my hands on a woman, but it baffles me to this very day that girls would have the nerve to slap at (in some cases punch) a guy...THEY DONT KNOW...and then EXPECT that the guy isn't gonna swing back...Poor restraint on Hyde's part, but no matter what he said to the girl, she has to know that if you swing on some people, they don't care if you're a man, woman, or dog and you will get hit back...

Cal is week three for them I believe, Buffulo opening weekend. But yes, I'll be rooting for both...along with SDSU, and everyone else they play minus Michigan.

Thanks man. I think when I read StL's post below that I assumed that was the order.

They beat Cal last year with a 72 yard bomb with 3 mins left at home.

I know Cal lost a couple players from last year but this year it is on the road. It is possible.

Cal will be legit under Dykes. It all depends on their QB mastering the playbook. They've got the proper athletes at WR/RB to make it work (especially young ones that still have plenty of time to learn the system).

What do you know about Cal's Oline? going up against a shiny new front 7 for O$U, at home, with some experience after taking on northwestern week one, makes me think this game is almost a 50/50 proposition if:
1. Braxton Miller has even an average sort of day
2. Cal can stop the run
3. Cal's Oline plays well

of course, the chances all 3 of those things happen are, well, a bit below 50/50

Cal's O-line will be very young. It is very possible that they won't have a single senior starting on it. Lots of Sophomores and maybe some redshirt freshmen to go with a junior or two.

I think more than anything that tOSU would NOT be a legit BCS contender if not for

A.) Their schedule
B.) Their conference (plays off A of course but A goes deeper)
C.) Miller and Meyer

Beyond that i do not think they are ready for prime time this year, but may get there anyway due mainly to A and B... BUT with that said, I wouldn't be suprised to see them lose one no one sees coming, again, they are more lucky than good heading into it imo.

Its funny how people can blast urban meyer for suspending a kid for 3 games after all charges were dropped and he wasnt arrested, but say nothing concerning michael floyd not missing a single game after his dui, and reese only getting 1 for assaulting a cop.

whats that saying about glass houses?

The saying about glass houses is get your facts straight.

But yeah, I give Urban credit here.

The facts are straight, he was charged and arrested for battery of a police officer among other things. the fact that after the fact he got a deal and it was dropped doesnt change that. Was hyde ever officially charged or arrested? I could be wrong but i didnt read he was anywhere?

I think Hyde was a sacrifice to the National Media by Meyer. That same weekend, both Hyde and Bradley Roby, a potential All-American at corner, get in trouble with the law.

Hyde gets "dismissed" from the team (or whatever it was) without so much as a shred of an investigation. Now, 3 games.

Meanwhile, unless I've missed something and it's entirely possible I have, Roby has had nothing in the way of punishment from Ohio State.

Yea, Hyde is good, but it's a position of strength (at least according to OSU fans I've talked to). Their best running back, Miller, is going to have a great year. So Hyde was expendable. Why not make him an example of a new, no nonsense Meyer, a "high" profile player getting suspended. One that you don't need.

Meanwhile, your All-American CB with the non-suspension flies under the radar.

"Our players are taught to walk away. [Hyde's] punishment was because he didn't walk away," Meyer said Wednesday during a visit to ESPN's main campus as part of a Big Ten coaches media trip.

"Bar staff, security officers, and an independent witness reported that Mr. Roby had been inside the Dunkirk Bar and had attempted to start a fight with another (patron). He was removed from the bar by bar staff. He then attempted to re-enter the bar to locate his friends. At that point he was stopped by security officers and told he could not re-enter the bar. Mr. Roby then struck one of the security guards in the chest, causing a complaint of pain. He was then wrestled to the ground and detained until police arrived on the scene. "

What was that about suspending because he didn't walk away?

I know Meyer has said Roby will likely "face suspension" and is "in the doghouse". Let's see if he sticks to his guns.
