KaBOOM,,,,early fireworks! Awesome addition, this class could be special. Irish play twice in Texas in 2016, Austin and San Antonio (60 miles apart), deep in the heart of Texas.

The Gug is fired up right now about Brock Wright.

ND absolutely loves this kid.

Third public commit from Irish Invasion, with more to come. That's what you want out of an event like that. Players coming to campus you want in your program, and committing them.

Brock Wright, Hunter Johnson, A.J. Epenesa, three of the names at the top of ND's board in 2017. Irish staff really wants Hunter next. A.J. won't decide anytime soon.

Lots of confidence in the ND circle that the 2017 class will be special.

We'll see what happens.

They're confident that they'll be clicking on all cylinders as a staff after transitioning in four new coaches.

I wouldn't mind double dipping next recruiting class if we decide not to take a TE in the 2016 class. Grabbing someone like Grant Carrigan or Cole Kmet would just be gravy

Finished up a fairly large building design today. Been working on it for a few months.

Cocktailsssss is right

Over 80 hours for me this week. we're kicking off 2 national deployments which are both running at night. knocked my dick in the dirt. i am salivating for a large canadian whiskey, 7 up, and lime. guilty pleasure, easy drinking.... doing my best to stay away as i am already prime for a blackout without having one sip of booze. thinking i should put myself to bed and dvr the US/China game.

Awesome get. I am really confident we get Hunter too. Pair the #1 TE with the #1 QB... And you get pure gold Notre Dame magic.

Love it.

Wow 17 class on track to be special. Solid season to finish the 16 class off right and keep banging on top 17 talent.

Plus our Oline recruiting has been dirty and doesn't seem to be slowing down. Can this please happen?

Brock Wright looks to be the most complete high school tight end I have ever seen.

And he has two high school seasons left?

This kid looks like a twenty-five-year-old; if the cliché, "man among boys" was ever true, WOW!

This kid can block like a tackle or a guard, can knock people over carrying the ball, after the catch. It seems he has enough speed to get separation, (at least in high school.)

Does anyone know within what division/ league he plays? I am too lazy to do the research.

I asked someone I know, who just might know a thing or two about college football, and evaluating players, just how good Brock was. And the reply I got was no school may have ever landed two tight ends in three classes as good as Jones and Wright!

I asked about (for example) Rudolph and Eifert, and the response was, "Time will tell!" And I was reminded that they actually were in consecutive classes, though Eifert red-shirted. Also, of course I got back that we were talking about committing out of high school, and that Eifert really developed at ND, etc.

Further needling on my part revealed that in one opinion Wright is the better blocker, and Jones has a better catch radius, all though both have great, natural, and soft hands.

The hallmark of both tight ends is that neither has to break stride for an adequately placed ball. He ended saying that I shouldn't split hairs, and the point is that if this goes according to plan, ND will have such an embarrassment of riches at tight end that they will have the potential to be an incredibly dynamic offense.

Finally, he wondered aloud what '16 Tight End would have the balls to commit to ND with this situation playing out!

Oh yeah, and I asked him about the possibility of Wright being one of those guys that peaks out in high school. His reply was that from everything he heard, Brock had a work ethic that set him apart, and he probably hasn't finished growing/maturing. (I am not sure of the actual wording.)
