The nastiness and pancake blocks must be in Trevor's jeans! His father Matt, played defensive line for Iowa. Enthusiasm should be tempered with the level of competition this kid faces. On a Friday night, I can think of better places to be than a high school stadium in McHenry, Lake Zurich, Crystal Lake, or Wheaton, Illinois. I think this proposition holds for college recruiters as well. There are not many Div 1 prospects in the Fox River Valley Conference. May as well attend a game in Lake Wobegon(Minnesota)!

I agree with what you're saying about the competition, but he is doing what he should be doing against lessor competition and that is dominating. His clip is just a small sample, but if he plays every play like that, then I like.

Although Trevor might indeed be well-endowed with lots of testicular fortitude,..... I think you mean genes. At least I hope you do.

He's from the next town over from me. I'll have to check out a game or two.

Simply a play on like sounding words. I find it interesting how often genetics gives such advantage to linemen. There is always a father, uncle, or brother who played well at a competitive level. examples - Alex Bars, KC McDermott, Fruhmorgen, the Bosas, and now, Ruhland.

We lead after last weekends visit. Trevor says that he will play guard or center in college. He's visiting Minnesota today but has no other visits planned after that.

per Allen Trieu from scout

Personally, I think his offer is committable

Wiltfong wouldn't be surprised if Ruhland popped in the next week or so. This would wrap up the Oline as long as Tillery sticks

Did Jamel James ever let the staff know he was coming? I think he just let the public know he was committed to ND and maybe the staff never even heard of him.

Maybe he thought he could pull a Willie Mays Hayes.

From what I heard he did, the staff accepted with conditions and he didn't meet those conditions so he wound up at Texas State. I wish that fate on no man who doesn't already have herpes.

I wonder if that recruitment led or contributed to all the "academically conditional" offers we've seen the last few cycles.

I thought he ended up Arkansas Woo Pig Suey?

TX State?

Damn.

Nice! Still don't get passing on Pettitbon, but glad the staff landed the man they wanted. Welcome to the family Trevor!

It would be nice if we were done now. Barring any decommits, it seems like we can focus on other positions now.

Welcome to the family, Trevor!

Welcome to the family, Trevor!

We're still recruiting a 3rd lineman. His name is Jerry Tillery, haha.

There's a little recruiting-service drama on this one:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p><a href="https://twitter.com/search?q=%23NotreDame&src=hash">#NotreDame</a> has good news coming - & it's already been reported elsewhere - but per the kid's wishes, we're going to wait to release it.</p>— Irish Sports Daily (@ISDUpdate) <a href="https://twitter.com/ISDUpdate/statuses/459028758323011584">April 23, 2014</a></blockquote>

I'm not much of a film guy (especially on the lines)... anyone have a good read on what kind of prospect this kid is?

Some of you have said that you don't understand not offering Pettitbon. I'm not going to question the staff's evaluation process with offensive linemen because it seems to be working. Heistand is one of the best o-line coaches in the country and I believe he can turn Trev into a mauler inside
