Sherm what the hell are you talking about? Folston and Riddick couldn't be more opposite. You want to know who Tarean Folston is? He's Armando Allen, knee injury ruined his career and he might play a couple years in the NFL. But you watch Folston this year and he had 0 explosiveness and no second year.

remember this? Fuckk this was soooooo sick

Armando Allen in his whole career at ND never once rushed for 25+ yards on a single carry. His junior year he was the fastest player in the country in HS

Ugh I miss the old Folston. Yeah that leg injury in high school killed Allen. But, I love Armando and he had a damn fine career at Notre Dame. Was he a super star? No, but Armando no doubt had a respectable career here.

Apologies I didn't fraise my comparison correctly about Folston and Theo. I didn't mean they are the same type of players and have the same style. I meant it more like he could have a career like Theo in the NFL. More of a third down back/change of pace back. Will catch balls out of the backfield and will block on third down. Sorry for the confusion.

I get that he has a pretty serious injury, but TF was always a guy who got better late in games after several carries. He never really got that opportunity in any games this year so it's hard to say how much he really dropped off, if at all.

It seems apparent to me he lost some lateral quickness and explosiveness. He was never going to track meet anyone but he had Bettis like quickness and burst...I've been waiting to see it. Sometimes it takes a year or two to return, so it may be there again. It may well have returned if he was forced to be "the guy" back there this year. Time will tell, but I do miss that feeling of having him in the backfield, knowing that even if the play is defended well, he wasn't going to lose yards.

He was missed very much against Clemson in 2015...healthy TF makes a huge difference in that game IMHO.

I wish the kid nothing but the best, and I think he needs to put himself where he can be the man, and work through whatever lingering physical and mental issues he has related to his injury....been a good soldier, now he needs to prepare for Sundays, because a healthy TF belongs on the field Sundays.

This.

He's gotta go to a school where he is THE guy.

I think he would be better off going to a MAC type school where he is guaranteed a high volume of carries... that would be when his qualities shine through.

I am the weird one on this, I do like him better healthy than Adams. Adams has better breakaway speed, but he has better cutting and wiggle.

And Armando gave Clausen a black eye. He has a special place in my heart because of that.

Since the site analysts were saying that Folston looked pretty good in camp, I was pining for Tarean to be the #1 back to just grind out yards behind Nelson and Big Mike and allow Adams to be the big play guy. That's the vision I had for this year's offense and I was incredibly disappointed by what I was given instead.

Hahaha......I did not k ow that!!! Hopefully on purpose. I got to speak to a few students about 8 years ago that both said Clausen was a huge cock to most everyone who wasn't him.

Clausen is a terrible person. I had the same experience.

Best of luck. Tarean never had the amazing career I thought he was headed towards at ND but from all appearances was a solid teammate as well as a contributor on the field. I thought he would be our leading rusher last year but never really looked 100% after the injury against Texas the year before. I also feel the coaching staff could have made better us of his skill set.

Some players bounce back right away from knee injuries, others takes time.
It seems Folston needed more time.. Hopefully he gets a chance. I loved him as a team mate

Makes sense. The biggest thing is that he will have his degree from ND. Good for him. I hope he at least gets an opportunity in the league.

He was a great teammate, but unfortunately his injury put him behind the eight-ball and before he could recover enough he was behind some pretty good talent he couldn't overcome. Not convinced he'll make a roster, but hope he does. If not, like Granger said, he'll have a nice degree to fall back on.

Good luck Folston can't see you getting drafted because speed is a major question for ya and the lack of carries this year is a bit head scratching. He will get a shot as an undrafted rookie and make a training camp. ND has had guys like this still make some plays on Sunday. Hell man if Armando Allen can play in the NFL the same guy who never had a carrier run of over 25 yards his WHOLE TIME at ND which still just blows my mind if you ever watched his highlight tape. It was like watching Reggie Bush jr.

GA3
Cierre Wood
Armando Allen
Jonas Gray
Bob Hughes
all played on Sundays he will get a shot somewhere. I still remember his jump cut against Navy and his run against Oklahoma and was like we found our RB.

One of my favorite ND RBs next to Darius Walker/Julius Jones. Good luck to me. I think he made a smart move by leaving. That injury really set him back, sadly.

I do wonder if he would have put up better numbers in 2017 with another year to recover. And would love to have had him back. We need more veteran leaders. But we've got a crowded backfield and an RB career only lasts so long. I'm sure Tarean knows that. Will be rooting for him.

Good luck, kind of like a changing of the guard, with Terean leaving.
