Good for him for staying. The RB class next year will be strong, but I would imagine a strong season moves him way ahead of where he would have been drafted this year.. if he had been drafted at all.

Looking forward to the Adams-Folston 1-2 punch next year.

Folston-Adams punch should be better than Prosise-Adamd who were basically similar players. Folston and Adams each bring different aspects to the RB position.

I agree, both are very complimentary backs. Folston is our best goal line/short yardage back among the three, and it's not that close. When Adams came in for Prosise the running game barely skipped a beat.

This thread makes me haz sad.

All summer I wanted to watch Z and Folston run a true zone read behind our line all season. Not even a full drive. :(

He provided a spark tonight. I was happy for him. Folston has had a very solid career, wish his last year would have gone better.

He almost looked lien the Folston pre injury.

Technically he can come back next year. He won't though.

Maybe he transfers to a Florida school...FSU with Cook leaving?

But with the shelf life of RB's he should go to the league.

Sooooo did he get hurt during that first TD drive or did the offensive staff pull their typical well that worked so let's not do it the rest of the game?

Kelly felt the need to call the entire playbook instead of what was working. Stanford was on the ropes man.

Folston was out two weeks with an ankle injury. Not the prospect for a bell cow the first game back. He did look better running the ball while he was in. Was he reinjured? Had they only landed to use him for a limited number of carries?

Kelly made a comment about "developing players and playing for 2017 and 2018". How much of this is contributing to the amount of player rotation we are seeing?

Getting the young guys some experience is a great decision considering the record this season. But it should never be more important that the victory.

Before this year I didn't think he would be back but now I do. He is a possible candidate for a 5th year transfer but I would like him back. You guys think he stays?

150% chance he leaves

Best case at ND, he splits carries with Josh Adams. Worst case, he gets passed by Tony Jones or Dex.

Its a no brainer... go somewhere where you can be the workhorse. At this point, Folston's value is in being a pound it 25 times a game between the tackles back anyways.

I wish him all the best. I could see him going to Miami OH.

He's the kind of guy who can be the locker room leader we very much need on this team, even if he's only RB2 alongside Adams. Would love to see him stay.
And honestly with his injury history and what he showed this year, he's probably not going to have a long career on Sundays regardless. Only got so many carries in him.
Is he really better off being a bell cow in the MAC?.

I think he goes to the NFL. Will make a team as a UDFA and play a few years in the league. Then will be successful in life with the money he earned in the NFL and the Notre Dame degree.

Before the ACL injury last year he could have been great. He had moments where he looked like Shady the two years prior. Wish him all the best in whatever he does.

I can see him having a nice career in the League. He's a good blocker and he's good at slipping out of the backfield in the passing game. Very valuable skills.

Could be Theo Riddick part 2.

There was one game where the scripted plays to begin the game show cased a bunch of passes to Folston out of the backfield and motioning into the slot. Of course we never saw that the rest of the game or the season.

One of the game adjustments was not looking at the scripted plays.
