Look at the build on Book. This needs to go to his thread.

If Claypool is 6'5", and McKinley is 6'3", which is where the are listed, book is a healthy 6'1". And of all of them, he is built more like a linebacker!

Book has some paws on him. His hands look huge which means...well nothing really. But maybe he'll turn out to be the Irish Drew Brees and destroy our passing records.

It's always amazing how the guys that are bigger than we expected stand closest to the camera. I really didn't expect our long snapper, John Shannon's, to have an arm that is bigger than our 215 lb WR's legs.

Did I miss something?

The backup QB is always the most popular player at ND.

It's a joke about fans (but also generally true because we are all insane) and how they are either upset with the current QB situation and calling for a change, or else longing for the next year when the backup will break out and show everyone what we've been missing.

We better beat the dogsh*t out of Temple, that way Book can get his feet wet before he's needed against one of the heavy hitters haha

But Kelly won't step on their throats. It's his shoddy play calling and the inability to play with tempo.

Dammit! FIRE KELLY!

Hard to believe there was no Fire Kelly post in this thread... FIRST!

Kelly will come out and say this is an open competition and we won't know the starter till the Temple game.

Kickoff against Temple is a little early, no? Book and MvG both need at least 3 series against the Owls before we'll know for sure who our starter should be.

Cant believe no love for Ian Book in his thread after he stepped up, on the road, at UNC and did what I thought was a really great job in his first college start.

Thought he threw the ball real well, ran the offense efficiently---couldn't have asked for more from the kid.

Great Job Ian!

Go Irish!

He did an excellent job sticking to the playBook and really showed some nice moves when he was Booking it down the field on some designed QB runs. He'll be a consistent player in the future, Book it.

Did I do that right?

If he was the number 1 and got first team reps from the start of fall camp would the team have a better record?

When this team started to struggle to run the ball, it all fell apart. Wimbush is decent when he doesn't have to win with his arm.

Teams loses the box and Wimbush is slow with reads and inaccurate.

Book would keep defenses honest.

Run the ball and then play action fake with Book. Not to mention Book is a sneaky runner.

I think if Book got 100% starting reps this ND team beats Georgia and Stanford and has a legit shot at playoffs.

That’s my quarterback.

Gunslinger. Give him the first team reps and watch him win.
