The gray areas of recruiting. Hey as long as a coach rides in it, we're fine.

ND was following the rules. If the NCAA is bent out of shape about it or the Power 5 compliance officers...tighten up the gaps then.

Otherwise...move bitch get out da way!!!

Well a tree shouldn't be the normal mode of transportation for Harbaugh to get into a recruit's bedroom, but no one is trying to say he committed a recruiting violation.

It says that a Power 5 official said, "I'm pretty sure that is not the normal mode of transportation."

Probably from the SEC as he just handed a few thousand to someone to write this up.

"I'm confident that is not their normal mode of transportation," a Power 5 school compliance official said.
Well no fucking shit.

Neither are all the private jets, limos, and "swagcopters".

I think the problem with the "normal mode of transportation" thing is that the Swagcopter, the limos, and the PJ's are used to go watch kids play, not for actual visits. That's the point of making the show.

Perhaps they should start taking the big rig to high school games during bye-weeks, when the coaches are making appearances at high school games.

They used the truck to transport 1,000 ND Under Armor t-shirts that they donated to the local homeless shelter. The driver just happened to have breakfast outside of Robertson's home, and decided that the HS parking lot was a good place to take a nap before heading out to Gordo, AL to donate more t-shirts.

You know the most impressive part of ND1 being used as a transportation?

Unless they were chauffeured, one of our coaches had to get a license for the damn thing.

old Dawgs247 that he's taking the visit to show his mom around UGA. She already has a great relationship with the staff. Of guys he'd like to play with in college, he said Jacob Eason and Richard LeCounte III.

NCAA bylaw 13.4.3.5 Miscellaneous Promotions reads: "Member institutions and their representatives of athletics interests are prohibited from financing, arranging or using recruiting aids (e.g., newspaper advertisements, bumper stickers, message buttons) designed to publicize the institution's interest in a particular prospective student-athlete."

EVERY school in the country lets their appointed recruitniks know when they are going to visit a recruit and they tweet it out themselves on top of it to ADVERTISE their interest to the world through digital media..... BUT it is not ok to do it in print?

Toothless bylaw. Nonenforceable.

And this is why you load up a couple of pallets of donated ND coats, gloves and shoes for the local Diocese and Catholic Charities.

LOL it is not a violation... holy crap are people a bunch of haters...

First of all, what's ironic to me is that this ties back to the rule in question a couple days ago with Penn State and them putting a recruit on thevideo board at center ice at a hockey game. It's the same thing Urban Meyer got dinged for a couple years ago, putting a recruit's name on the Jumbotron in the stadium before he had signed. Even if you break this rule (and weren't doing something egregious like actually putting up billboards in their town), it doesn't matter. It's not the kind of thing you get sanctions over.

Yes, if they had just left the truck in front of house for days and no one was using it then you could consider it a violation. But if a coach road in it to his house and it was used throughout the day then you have to be a completely ignorant mouthbreather to think it's a violation when Kevin Sumlin is allowed to land a mother fucking "SWAGCOPTER" at a recruit's high school covered in A&M shit and that's fine.

There is no rule that transportation has to be "normal"... that's egregious journalism and/or jealousy on display here.

Rookies....

The ROI on one time "investments" is extremely low. The better option is to make small investments over the course of two years with a few more frequent "investments" in December and January. If played right, one can use these "investments" as tax write offs... think in the form of a business trip expense.

The SEC Conference holds a month long symposium on all this once a year around July. It allows everyone time to get their game plan together for the upcoming recruiting season. Seating is limited so sign up early. This year's symposium is called "Making the Most of Your End of Year Charitable Giving."

I'd like him on ND's pitch, but truth of the matter is we knotted up Claypool and McKinley and that's stellar. Also we have Stepherson in the fold.

If he comes then fantastic.

Is this a recruiting violation? Seems like it should be.
