Jesus Wilson will probably give ND fits because of course a guy named Jesus would do that.

Cautiously optimistic about this game

The more praise FSU gets from the media this week before Saturday, the better

Honestly, I feel like ND really can't lose here as far as the long term goes...

if they get beat handily then nothing really changes perception wise (looking around, many 'experts' and the nation in general still does not take ND seriously in any way, shape or form)... if that happens, just keep moving forward.

if they lose close, then they are still within playoff striking distance...

obviously, a win and statement is made.

Disagree a blowout loss would really hurt our national perception IMO. Most seem to think we're good enough to give FSU a run.

So from reading the last few pages, some of the people who were worried about losing to UNC, Syracuse, etc. think FSU isn't that good and we will win. Pass it this way.

If we lose BIG I have to listen to all these damn Fuckeye fans tell me how we are the "same old sorry ass irish" . I think our defense makes plays and confuses King Crab enough to give us a chance , the rest of it is on Golsotonson's shoulders .

I was 20 at the time, and as Acamp said previously, the hype leading up to the game was epic. The Charlie Ward-led offense was annihilating every team they played, I believe FSU was averging 48pts/GM going into the game in South Bend. The saturday before the FSU game, I got my first tattoo, the ND leprechaun on my back. (still didnt show my father for 2 years that I had a tattoo, lol).

Anyway, i watched the game at my father's house with a good friend who hates ND (this person is still a good friend today, and he still hates ND). I was decked out in anything and everything I had that was ND, plus my new (at the time) tattoo, I thought I had all bases covered.

That's your fault bro... I dropped all the 'hater friends' years ago... lol

Others have noted this already, but this season feels a lot like 2012. And FSU is expected to beat us handily, just as OU was two years ago. Few here had much confidence that we'd shut down Landry and his NFL-caliber WRs as well as we did.

We're good enough to win comfortably. Our defense matches up well against their offense, and if Golson can get a handle on the TOs, we'll put up plenty of points.

The FO models finally phased out the last of the pre-season projection data, and FSU dropped out of the top 20 (at least for S&P+). This is a beatable team.

We've got fewer distractions, more to prove, and Kelly's teams have been excellent on the road. I still think we win.

I got my threads completely mixed up... should have been in the "Where were you for the '93 FSU game?" thread

Well, I was and am one of the one's who thought we should be able to handle UNC easily. After listening to BK in the after game presser, he seemed genuinely worried about what UNC was capable of offensively and, when asked, he emphatically said that FSU was a completely different animal from UNC, but he seemed less concerned about FSU IMO based on his reaction. He said UNC was a BAD matchup for ND and he did have genuine concerns, which were obviously realized.

Yeah, if we're going to lose, it's got to be close. A blowout will kill any chance for a playoff, and even going 11-1 with a close win may be difficult to get a playoff nod given the way competition hasn't show up this year.

Despite the final scores I thought we were much better than UNC, Syracuse and Stanford. Despite a lot of mental mistakes, we still beat them. FSU is a different animal and is more talented than us at most positions on the field. Considering this is a hyped night game with an opponent everyone loves to hate, I don't see FSU coming out flat.

Only way we win IMO is if Golson and Jaylon are the two best players on the field and we make a couple plays on special teams. I don't see us holding them to less than 30 and I'd be surprised if we score more than 27. I've been optimistic since about Week 3 but I just think our defense is going to get shredded. I don't think we can generate a consistent pass rush or establish a running game and that's the key to winning games like these.

Obviously hope I'm wrong.

FSU is the best team UND will face this year. Isn't the reverse true also?

If ND loses, I don't think they are out of the hunt with ASU, L'VILLE, and USC left. A loss by FSU would seal their fate. Can't climb the polls by beating up on Scrubby ass VA, BC, UM, and UF

This isn't last year's FSU. Forget everything that happened last season and just look at the body of work this season. ND absolutely has a good chance to win this game. I love the matchup, although I expect FSU to try and use up tempo after seeing the UNC film. BVG's adjustments will make or break this game, as I feel the offense should comfortably score around 31 points.

Agree 100%. BK also said this team knows how to win, which they do. That coupled with our record as a road underdog makes me more confident. Got to play physical, disciplined, TO free ball though.

I think Van Gorder brings is A game, and is going to look to confuse Famous Jameis . its a matter of if we can execute what he comes up with. I don't think our outside wide receiver screen game is going to be all that effective. this is the kind of game we need to see multi back sets and lots of Ben Koyac. Amir must win his routes.

Since the rumor thread has been hijacked and is a waste of time now I thought I would post this here to see what others may have heard or know. Talked to someone today and he said 3 are gone and 2 can come back but didn't stipulate which 2. Also said all five are going to the FSU game since the investigation is fully complete although obviously none are able to play (this is why I chose to post it in this thread). I don't have many sources like a lot of posters here but this guy was spot on about Diaco leaving and how we would proceed with new OC and DC so he has been credible. Anyone else hear something similar?

I have never been to FSU's campus, I really wanna see the sights. Here is my must see list.
-Burger King
-OK corral (also known as the apartments of the BB gun shootout)
-The Squirrel Hunting Ground
-Student Commons
-Publix
and last but not least, the room where Jamies fucked her right in pussy!

I hope I have enough time...

Does KVR fit into the "gone" category or "can come back" category? I read this that all are gone this year and 2 (KVR included) may come back next year.

So am I hearing a consensus? First one to 30 wins? If not for the UNC game I would agree. Now I am not confident 30 will be enough to win.

Like the Stanford game, I'm hoping for more roll outs with Golson being smart enough to throw it away and slide when necessary.

That throw away attempt that was interecepted on the sidelines vs. Stanford was terrible. Just get down or chuck it.

I feel as though some people get intimidated right off the bat because FSU was dominant last year and won the national title. However paying attention to FSU they are a flawed team this year with actually some of the same problems that many people perceive ND to have.

I think we match up well with FSU. I want to know what happened to the screen game from early in the season because I think executing that well could go a long way towards winning the game. If TF has turned the corner that would be huge as well.

I am soooo worried about our OL. The center position and communication between the interior is extremely soft.

The wife and I are driving down around 230pm. Have not scouted anything. How is parking? Also is there a place close for drinks and a little food first?
