Never thought that I'd be happy at Ronaldo scoring.

Bring on Belgium
Hang with Germany (not get killed) and get points against Port and Ghana... that's very doable... it could have been easier but it's not impossible.

Everything I read leading up had us advancing with one goal win by Ghana and one gaol loss by us????
Go South Korea and Algeria!!! I would love playing Algeria in the Round of 16...
The bright side for the U.S. is that the ref tosses the smallest stick onto the field for every U.S. game, and, much like in Quidditch in Harry Potter, if any player finds it the U.S. gets 2000 points and wins the entire World Cup. We will dedicate two or three players just to that and just play defense with everyone else.
The old 7-2-1 formation eh. Probably see us through alright.
Yes and yes. Ghana basically owns us, Germany is one of the best teams in the world and Portugal has the (arguably) best player in the world.
You play them until two teams gets to 100 points. That's why the tournament lasts all summer.
Yes you keep rotating. It is part of the World Cup, its just the first round. The two winners advance to the sudden death round where they play one match and the first team to get 10 goals advances to the semi-final round. Some matches can last for over 8 hours.... this is why Americans say soccer is boring.
The chained tigers liven things up though
They actually changed the rules for this year. Matches capped at 4 hours. Should speed up pace of play considerably.
GITF is out of date on this. They had lots of people complaining about matches taking too long and how the quality of play decreased over the really long 6-8 hour matches as people got super tired, so now after a match hits 4 hours they take a break and come back the next day.
Still first to 10 wins though.
Oh I didn't realize that. Thanx. SHould definitely speed up play

For every defender you fake out like this you earn extra time on clock improving your chances for winning so that is why the clock runs forward and not backward like US sports.
I love u Kuehnja
There are 4 groups of 7 pools (selected randomly) that take turns drawing the sticks. Its a big show they put on that happened today where each country sends a rep to draw their stick (England sent Princess Kate).
At the ref's discretion though, which is what makes matches so controversial.
Yep this is Cristiano Ronaldo, the guy that plays for Portugal. He once racked up an extra hour on the clock for the number of jukes he completed. INSANE.

Everyone remember this? LOL. Finally can laugh at bit. This seemed like ages ago.
This was one of GITF's finest moments, IMO. He rarely joked around, but really funny when he did.
I almost blew it with my Quidditch joke. Too obviously false.
Man of the match for US was Omar Gonzalez... I will eat crow there. He played exceptional. I also thought Demarcus Beasley played his best game.
Bradley played decent in the first half, but terrible in the second. His legs are spent.
Besler continues to play exceptional.
Jones is the MVP overall.

Yes, yes you will... and you're not done yet... you have to finish to ENTIRE PLATE... there's still some fat there...
