Gordon & Macphail Longmorn 30yo. A very good whisky. varnished oak, sweet breads, some cherries, vanilla and pencil shavings.

Im ok with the pencil savings but a whiskey that tastes like animal glands doesn't seem very appealing to me. **scratches head.

What did you think of it?

New Belgium Snow Day right now.

This is roasted wheat, herbal hops, hints of coffee and citrus on the nose.
The palate is roasted wheat and herbal hops (almost slightly dirty tasting) with the hints of coffee and citrus. A little cooking spices and cinnamon.

A pretty good beer (probably in the low 80's on a scale of 1-100) but nothing special.

I loved it. It was much more subtle than other beers this time of year. Had a light hazy yellow to it. Fruity smell and a little clove. No spices are used while brewing this I read, so it is very balanced.

I have never had Snow Day although I am a huge fan of New Belgium.

Yuenglings Amber is on tap for me tonight. From Indiana so whenever I can get my hands on Yuengling it is always enjoyable.

Outstanding. It is Shorts' signature beer. A hoppy, malty IPA. People name their kids Huma in Michigan (ok maybe not their kids but definitely their pets).

Time for the big boy beer. Russian River Supplication. A little slice of Heaven. The most wonderous tart and sour cherry flavor.

Had the Sam Adams Merry Mischief. A 9% Gingerbread stout. Mehhh. It was ok. Not as good as the Sly Fox Christmas Ale in the can, not the bomber.

Can't sleep (coughing/cold) for the third day in a row, so I'm drinking some Grolsch. Recently read a Harvard case review on their international business strategy. Got me thirsty.

Actually, better than Heineken imo. Sells better in the Netherlands as well.

What Iriish wihiskies do you normally drink?

I currently have Jameson Gold Reserve, Bushmills 1608 400th anniversary, Rebreast 15yo and Redbreast 12yo CS open.

I love Red Breast & Jameson Gold. I'd like to try Red Breast 15 but it isn't available near me yet. Knappogue Castle, Tullamore Dew 12 year old, and Jameson 12 are other solid drams. Powers is my bargain selection (still pretty decent). And Paddy's only gets released in March in my state so I grab a couple of bottles for St. Patrick's Day.

I've been mainly drinking PBR and Newcastle all season long on game day. However, in addition to the case of PBR in the fridge, I feel like today deserves something special. I'll be making a run to BevMo today to pick up something real fancy!! :)

Almost went working class and went with Pabst, Blue Ribbon... Which along with Miller is my go to when money is tight... But Rolling Rock was actually cheaper...
