Except you weren't actually worried about attrition, or that is what you would have said. In fact, you didn't even remember that we had already did what you were hoping for in QB depth.

There isn't a quota, but it's annoying when we have a billion politics threads on here that you are daily making new ones for every random political story you can find. You get like 5 responses and then you are off to pounding the site with your next one. Get a life.

It may annoy you, but I have gotten a lot of positive rep the last few days, and not a single negative rep. Not a single person has IM me in disgust either. Actually this has been one of my better weeks (j/k, I rarely get neg reps but they do inevitably happen). I could screen print my user panel if you would like to confirm, happy to do so. Will have to wait till I get home as work has turned off file sharing site access, I am afraid.

As for the QB depth, I am one of those that believes having a +1 is a positive thing. I realize we have Mr Van Gorder as depth and do not wish to take away his scholarship which I am sure he has earned, and that is not this team's MO. But we have room, and having an insurance policy is not a bad idea. See previous seasons where the board caught fire over Mr. Rees who was our 4th string QB at one point. I think he proves the point that you really cannot have too many QBs.

edit: I just got a neg rep for this post, obstensiblly to prove me wrong after the fact. :)

If you were going to take an extra scholarship, it would have been this year. Next year, they should go after the best Ivy League QB at the end of the cycle. He's paying $60k per to play Ivy League, relatively like money for ND. Here's the roster if you add one a year. There might be something going on for Andrew Tovar of LA Cathddral for a PWO spot this year. He put up Nintendo #'s, has visited ND and has a 4.0+GPA

2017 - Wimbush-3, Book-4, Davis-5
2018 - Wimbush-2, Book-3, Davis-4, Jurkovec-5
2019 - Wimbush-1, Book-2, Davis-3, Jurkovec-4, JT Daniels-5
2020 - Book-1, Davis-2, Jurkovec-3, Daniels-4, Bryce Young -5
2021 - Davis-1, Jurkovec-2, Daniels-3, Young-4, Athan Kaliakmanis-5

I took the liberty of adding some good players down the line. I wouldn't burn a scholarship unless I lost 3 QB's before the start of the '19 season to the NFL and transfers/position change (reason: Phil taking over for BW when he goes to NFL instead of coming back for 5th year.)

Thank you, much better job of in depth reasoning than I had. This was the year to take the extra guy, at whatever position was needed because we had a good idea we would have couple of extra schollies left to give.

Like, oh my gawd... you have gotten some positive reps AND you haven't gotten any neg reps or nasty pm's lately????

Do you give autographs?

Don't bring your dislike for another poster into a thread for no good reason, Wooly. You know better than that.

I just think adding a random 3* QB would've been a mistake. ND will never have a problem bringing in quality QB prospects. ND is in a really good spot for the best QB in the 2019 class. The QB situation is in good hands with BK at ND.

Isn't Junior Day next week or something? Crusader, do you have a list of Junior Day visitors? I was trying to find a visitor list but I wasn't successful.

2018 is off to a good start. The staff can't take their foot of the pedal now because this has a chance to be a top 5 class.

Feb 11.

The only one that is public is Aeneas Hawkins. I think the Paid Services are sitting on the info right now. They wanna get through NSD and then start talking about that next.

Visitor info will roll out daily now.

Based off of what I have read on twitter, Markese Stepp and Malik Vann will be there too. Getting Vann and the Ademilola twins would be a tremendous start to the 2018 d-line class.

Ahh I remember saying this about 17 like it was yesterday.

If BK takes a hike like everyone is predicting I find it very doubtful next year's class is top 5 unless the replacement is big name. Programs going through change just don't turn out top 5 classes.

I agree that its a cliche thing to say but at this point it is very possible considering who we either lead for or in major consideration. But, like every other year, we need to win games is the class will go as planned. Having a top 10 QB, RB, and LB is a great start though.

I think the 2018 class will be a top 10 class. This staff is a lot better in terms of recruiters. They actually want to do it. With Brian Kelly having his back against the wall, he's going to recruit. This class is off to a great start and I think with a successful season on the field, sky is the limit.

Add PJ Mustipher, Devin O'Rourke and an elite 5 star WDE and you have a full house. In a way, maybe no room for Vann if you are lucky.. There were a lot of elite DT's I wanted to take a run at in '18. DT is loaded with ND demograpic recruits but looks like ND's class could fill up quick.

So first come, first serve. That's why I'm always yappin' about getting O'Rourke and Waggoner... jeez, forgot him offers out. Get in early wrap it up and spend your time on CB's and WR's next year.

Not sure ND has every filled up quick on the DL. Would be a nice problem to have...

Well depending on where you think "little" Ademilola and OO end up, they may have 3 signed, 99% lead for PJ Mustipher and sound like they ae an offer away from also leading for O'Rouke and Waggoner. This is as good as it's ever been. Lock it up and get to work wining and dining them feather merchants at CB.

Similar to what I was thinking. Solid base already to the 2018 defensive class, gives us some flexibility.

One of the best parts about the 2017 class is getting some solid DT's. When you include having Jayson A in the 2018 class, we can really afford to big game hunt, to some degree, for the entire cycle now.

I really like that Lea was out to check up on O'Rouke already. Hopefully they offer shortly into this cycle and make a push. Try and get him for a Junior Day.

One of our 2018 commits tweeted out a list of the guys committed. This list included the recent commit (Michigan CB Gerv).

Loy quoted the tweet and said 'list expected to grow soon'. Who is likely next, and when?

I would say Cole Mabry first then Micah Jones. Jones will most likely wait a bit to announce

So Jones is next, unless one more DB or WR wants to jump in real quick and ensure their spot, or unless Vann decides to pop and steal some thunder.

If history repeats itself, I'm sure an o-lineman could pop at anytime too

Definitely Jones, he's the obvious choice but maybe someone pops before him, unexpectedly like Mr. Allen did.
