Correct me if I'm wrong, but Mrs. Ogle in kindergarten taught me that that means we're 4th ranked.
Mrs. Ogle rules!
Mea culpa.

3 guys I'd put money on getting are Amari Carter, Jedrick Wills and Tarik Black.
thisThat's one low paying trifecta
My gut tells me Notre dame will end up with foster Sarell in the end. I don't see Stanford being good next year especially with a new QB. We should beat them by 2 touchdowns. Washington same thing. The only thing those two schools have going for them is being close to home. Both their classes suck, compared to ND top 5 class

To clarify, a low payout means good odds, so you're saying this has a high probability of happening? Do we really feel that good about Wills?

I fell great about Wills. Much better than the other two heavies on the board.
I also feel confident in Wills competing for the LT job where I used to think he was a guard only at ND.
God.... I wish anybody but you would have posted this comment.
Yeah I'm something else. If memory serves me correct you clearly stated Hainsey wasn't coming here. And I predicted Davis going to ohio stateDude you are something else.

Bold prediction considering media picked Stanford #1 and Washington #2 in PAC12 north.
Maybe we won't win out but I just think a few things will push Sarel our way. One I think we have a great year better than Stanford. His mom is a teacher and loves good academics she knows what Notre Dame can offer her son. Then we have HH never doubt him .
About the camp, ISD said that the staff floated that idea but it didn't get enough traction with recruits so we're probably not seeing anything until September. If ND was closer to Sarrell, I think it'd be the choice. I just get the sense that distance is a factor and that Stanford wins out. With that said, I would agree that the longer it goes, the better it is for ND. At this point we have to hope he makes the OV.
I have a hard time seeing HH strike out on his top targets but I also can't say that I'm overly optimistic on any of his top guys going forward.
Who's next, I'd have to say Young is my guess. It sounds like most targets are now talking OV's, even Young to some degree. There was some talk from Ivins that ND was trying to have another camp like setting in August, for a select few players. Haven't heard anything further on that. Could be that we're done until September. And truthfully, I'm not sure that's a bad thing. We're filling up spots and slowing things down to identify the right guys from here is probably important.
Really Lt tackle?
I don't see it on film but would be great
I agree that Wills is our best shot at an elite lineman this year. I'm nervous about him playing LT at an elite college though. I'm not saying he can't, but his best position is guard.
Stanford does have a very tough schedule this year with some new starters at important positions. I'm not saying they tank obviously, but an 8-4 year wouldn't surprise me.
I don't know if it's just out of sheer will/hope on my part but I think we somehow land Sarell and Wills. We almost need to if we want to stay in playoff contention with the way the '18 and '19 schedules are shaping up.

Stanford has incredible academics. It all depends on what he wants to study and whether he can move from the West Coast. If he wasn't interested in Stanford, my optimism would be higher but Stanford matches up # for # with ND in many ways. Not in game day experience, program resources or promotion of religion within the academic framework.
The bad news is, next year's OT class doesn't look promising right now and ND isn't in early like they were with Top 10 guys like last year
Only 17 months till NSD...
With no knowledge on '18 OL recruiting. I'm confident we land at least one elite OL.
Phil doesn't have a big cousin or anything?'18's my specialty and it's slim pickens right now compared to '17. ND was seriously dancing with 5 of the top 10 OT's when you include Robert Hainsey who has been moved to OG by the recruiting networks. He may be an OG in their eyes but he's the starting LT for the most talented HS football team in history.
ND's in on OG Jamaree Salyer pretty good but it safe to say is running 3rd at best. Only two OT's have offers and no traction with either right now.
The best OL possiblities have to be Emil Ekiyor and Wyatt Blake, neither of which even have offers... yet.
