I'm afraid that Oregon might be the last straw though.

In the general public's eyes, they're still kind of the Wonderboy/Outsider story. If they have all their violations exposed, that could be the final push off the edge that leads us to giving up on college football as we know it.

I'm scared that people will finally throw up their arms and say "screw it." Pay the players and turn it all into a minor league system for the NFL.

Everybody's already forgotten that ND is trying, (as awkwardly as we are) to get this right. Oregon crashing would leave a massive hole. Phil Knight would try to take everyone down with him.

If it's still up, he got after it in the Rumored Violations thread and was going after other posters and was like a dog with a bone, he just would not let it go. Got several warning along the way to watch out, but to no avail.

That article was a f'ing joke. They try to make Lyerla out to be a villain because he asked for money to do an interview. There's nothing wrong with that, he's not in college anymore. The kid had definitely F'd up several times, but asking for money for an interview isn't one of them. Seems like the author wrote the whole article just to discredit Lyerla regarding his claims about Oregon being dirty. Seems to me that the players aren't the only one in Oregon's pocket.

I lived in Portland, off and on, for almost 15 years.......... Canzano is not a bad writer. But he is not a reporter; he writes a column. So he gets paid to state his opinion and to take one side or the other. He is the conservative voice in a sea of liberal "every kid needs a trophy" sports staff, at The Oregonian.

I actually had a brief email exchange with him, long ago, about something he had written about ND. He was very articulate and polite. And he came across as very genuine.
