Who do you want to replace Brian Kelly?

The DC board should be Mike Elko #1 then everyone else a distant second. Wake is currently pitching a shutout against Lamar Jackson and Louisville. Really impressed with what he gets out of a bunch 2 and low 3 star players.

Edit: GB beat me to it haha.

I've been saying this since BVG was fired. Elko is an outstanding DC and that is showing in a big way tonight. His teams are excellent at creating turnovers and 3rd down play. Five of his players at Wake have been drafted by the NFL and these aren't four and five star recruits he's working with. Not to mention Wake's offense is awful and gives the defense little help.

Can i haz Narduzzi?

(I still don't think he's ND-quality, but Pitt is noticeably more explosive as a team this year, and with a bunch of no-names to boot. Consistency issues aside, they've been impressive at times.)

He's a defensive coach and their defense is dreadful. No thank you. Fortunately Kelly isn't going anywhere anyway.

Mehr. For a defensively minded coach who specializes in the secondary, Pitt doesn't look very good in either aspect.

They lost 51-26 to Miami. One game does not make a coach.

Sorry you can't pick up on the sarcasm...

It was apparent or should have been.

Mount Union's 112 game regular season win streak was snapped by John Carroll. Let's add Tom Arth to the list of candidtates, too.

And they don't want him either. They just can't pay him to leave. He has been the most overpaid coach in CFB the last several years.

I don't understand why they want to get rid of him. Sure the team is average but they are Iowa. They aren't a powerhouse and never will be. He has won 10 or more games 5 times in the 18 years he has been there while Fry won 10 or more 3 times in his 20 seasons. They are a slightly above average program, they aren't Ohio State or Michigan and never will be.

His personality is a no go. If people thought Kelly yelling was bad, Narduzzi would be dreadful in the ND spotlight.

44 unanswered points?

You obviously didn't watch the game. INT returned for TD, blocked punt leading to TD and TD in final seconds. Realistically the UL offense should have scored about 24 points even though they average 50. Easily Lamar Jackson's toughest game of the year.

No, I didn't watch it, just the highlights, hence the question mark instead of an exclamation point. The 24 would have matched their season low against Duke.

With only 24 points UL would have gone for a late game score for the ratings so I don't discount it from their typical style/production. 31 points scored would be in the range of the Clemson and UVA, UL games.

Hopefully Fleck talks about his next gig at ND QUOTE]

Let him succeed at Purdue and somewhere else....I think Purdue is his next stop.

I still cannot believe that Fleck is in the same sentence as ND when it comes to the head coaching job on this site. I'd give the head coaching job to Sanford before I would Fleck.

I want to see if that boat keeps on rowing after this year....

You'd give the job to a co-OC & QB coach (whose main pupil is arguably regressing) with ZERO HC experience? Makes sense...

I would take Fleck over Sanford right now. Will Sanford eventually be a successful HC? I have no idea, but the last thing we need is a coach with no HC experience. Faust should have taught us that, but we turned around and did it with Davie and Charlie.

If he brings his old boss with him as DC and some of his current underlings... ok. But that ain't in the budget.

Otherwise, ND will have a staff full of NIU and WMU coaches for the next 7 years. No thanks. The Grand Valley Gang has soured me on small time staffs.

ranks seventh nationally in total offense including first in third-down conversion and red-zone offense and 15th nationally in total defense which is highlighted by a No. 1 ranking in turnover margin

10-0 and great stats against a schedule that includes two winning records. The mighty 6-4 Hurons of Eastern Michigan and FCS NC Central at 8-2. I've seen this resume before..

Now, if he had a Purdue or Illinois type at 8-4 in two years, I'd be a player.

Until ND shows they can reel in big fish from other big time schools, A guy like Fleck is who we need to keep our eye on. Everybody has to start someone and I have seen his team play and seen interviews with him and he is the type of guy I think ND needs to look at. Young, energetic, how many of us have moaned about how the team has zero fire? I do not know 100% if he would be successful here but I think he has the makeup to be successful.
