Working up the courage to ask my wife if I can buy a Switch.

Tempted to upgrade to a PS4 Pro instead, though. I want that 4K resolution for when I buy RDR2.
I'll tell the wife its for the newborn!

Or be a grown ass man and do PC master race and have a single console for sports titles not on PC.
My three consoles and accessories cost less than a gaming PC and I'm not an antisocial douchebag with computer in the living room, nor am I an antisocial douchebag who plays video games in my office.

Also you're not playing any Breath of the Wild or Mario games on that PC. Not too much couch co-op or competitive multiplayer either.

Playing Diablo III with my three sons has been amazing. Easily one of the best gaming experiences of my life thus far. Managing everyone's inventory is still a little awkward, but we've got a good system now.

Still enjoying Dead Cells. Such a well-designed Metroidvania game.

Koon, any update on TWIII?

Greyhammer, have you picked up Sekiro yet? It's fun to watch on Twitch. Looks like it'd be right up your alley.

I bought EUIV the other day during Paradox's sale. Looking forward to spreading the borders of Castile and protecting Christendom.

Paradox will also be releasing a Roman Republic game, Imperator: Rome, right after Easter. I plan on waiting for the initial bugs/DLCs/mods to come out and make it more playable, as apparently that's the best way to play the Paradox games.

I was locked into the "fight" and could not go find oil, or anything else to increase my ability to fight.

I hit rock bottom and deleted the game, and started from scratch. I'm about 30 minutes in right now (just punched the D bags outside the bar).

I'm going to pay more attention to my options this time. I don't really like the games where you have to be a chemist, blacksmith, etc. I don't get into all of those details, but I'm starting over, going slower, and paying more attention to the hints that pop up.

I will probably play ~1-2 hours per week, so it will be a slow go for me.

If you need any tips on EUIV, I've gotten pretty good at figuring out proper financing and stuff like that. Feel free to PM.

A Witcher's profession is killing monsters, so that's obviously a big part of the game. Every monster in the game is weak to a certain combination of oil, signs and bombs. Of the three, oils are by far the most important. Checking the bestiary before a major monster fight and going in adequately prepared is important.

Oils, bombs and potions come in three qualities (basic < enhanced < superior). You only have to craft each upgrade once; after that, you just meditate or sleep to replenish your supply. They're a core part of your character progression much more than an optional side profession you can do to gain some benefits.

The best gear in the game is crafted, but there's no "Smithing Skill" that you have to level up. For instance, if you prefer an offensive melee-oriented playstyle, Feline gear will serve you well. And you'll get opportunities to upgrade it several times as you progress. But you don't have to craft anything. You can do fine wearing whatever relic gear you discover playing naturally.

I feel like I need to beat this game or I'm going to let Whiskey down, and I will not let that happen.

I'm re-inspired.

I've accidentally punched one of the guys who challenge you to a shooting competition an embarrassing number of times. So many pointless reloads...

I had an awful sequence tonight. I'm broke, so I head to the Strawberry general store for a robbery tip. I peek in the window and see the illegal still, so I head upstairs to confront the shopkeeper when I'm interrupted by a pain in the ass kid who lost his dog. So I go look for the dog and return him. Then I see the guy who sold Arthur a bullshit self help book and I try to confront him, but I pull my gun and the damn dog turns on me. And the dog is fierce and violent so I run out of town and shoot it, destroying my honor. Then I return to the shop to rob the back room and the back room mission has deactivated and it does a "normal" robbery, further destroying my honor.

I preferred Diablo III when they had the Online Auction System. I have horrible luck getting the drops I want, and it was so nice being able to search for a few things easily and quickly. Just outfitting new characters was nice because you could pickup and sell rare yellow gear for reasonable prices. It's arguably easier to get gear now since they changed the game several years ago...but as a result mobs drop waaaay too much stuff imo. More gear doesn't mean it's the gear you need though. I don't know...the Auction system reminded me of the old Diablo II where people would drop into Act I to trade gear, they just made it more accessible through the Online Auction. I'm not sure they needed to bring real life currency into it though.

Ghost Recon Wildlands has been my go to lately.

Decent game, some of the weekly challenges were a lot of fun too. I think you can still go back and play a lot of them, like the Predator challenge. That one was tough, but a fun fight!

Europa Universalis 4.

Finished in 6th place with the ARCHBISHOPRIC OF COLOGNE. Was beautiful. Far and away my biggest accomplishment in a Paradox game.

I'm really struggling with Horseman 9. I'm doing it in plenty of time but can't get it to trigger completion.

Jedi: Fallen Order gets a reveal on Saturday... let’s see if it’s just gonna be a new, better “Force Unleashed”

Did some Twitter reply digging.

'Fallen Order' might have:
- Some wall-running/parkour
- Maybe a stealth element that is emphasized as you are a Padawan trying to stay hidden in the aftermath of Order 66
- Single-player combat where you aren't just spamming force abilities
- You actually feel like a Jedi because you have to be able to parry in combat, rather than mashing attacks
- Game will look like Rogue One/Solo, aka you're gonna see shiny new Empire style everywhere
- Will have occasional visuals like the prequel trilogy, which I assume will be when the Padawan is searching for Jedi stuff in the backwoods
- Not open-world, but not totally linear, either... maybe a mix of "Uncharted" and "Far Cry" in level design?
