What is the "uniform surprise"?

Do they really not "poll" the players at all? You would think they would want the team to be on board with what they are rolling out. Just curious.

Most any marketing/advertising firm would use a survey to gather some market research before they launched a product.

Why would they do a uniform like this? I like the idea of changing it up for the kids, but not just giving up your brand because of the field. This is the first time within the Shamrock series they've tried to look like another team which imo is gross.

Twitter is ripping on them because it is literally the two most hated teams in US sports combined into a single jersey. The only way it could be any worse is if there was some sort of Trump reference. Oh boy.

Actually I think it’d be fine if not for the pinstripe pants. Those are too much, too derivative of another team’s look. The little stripes on the sleeves would be sufficient nod to our hosts.

I don't understand why ND's branding would stoop so low to try to look like someone else. As noted, my issues are - 1) fuck the Yankees, 2) why, of all programs, are we trying to look like anyone other than ND football, and 3) the uni's are just ugly top to bottom.

IMO, the '13, '14, and '15 uniforms were all really good in different ways. The '13 uniforms were super crisp and clean. The '14 unis had an absolutely sick base layer and while some people didn't like the helmets all that much the replica jerseys were fantastic, too. The '14 unis didn't look great in concept and people thought they were "too green"... in reality, they were audacious and worked. Again, replica jersey was fantastic.

'16 was crap, and '12 was... odd.. the '10 and '11 jerseys were basic enough to not offend anyone.

This jersey is an absolute train wreck though. It's a bridge too far. They would've been salvageable if the helmet wasn't such garbage.

I think if they were gonna go "baseball"... they should've left the helmet gold and put an ND monogram on the crown like how a baseball cap has a logo. If they weren't going to keep it gold, go with a blue that matches jersey and put a white monogram on the crown.

As is, it's a disaster. It just does not work as a full kit.
