Me either but I do think the Elko/Lea background scheme is uniquely qualified to deal with this. In essence that is kind of the point of a 4-2-5. I also think we're recruiting at a clip that should be good enough to match up with their talent on offense. We're going to have some nice talents at LB and S.

USC is going to go back to shredding teams. They should've been playing an air raid spread for a long time now and stubbornly haven't because they are stupid.

Only prayer is that their defense stays soft, but the days of holding USC below 20 are over for everyone in their conference and us as well.

If the deal with USC does go through, I think they got the best candidate possible. Biggest question marks would be:

Can he do this against non-Big-12 defenses? Looking back at TTU's season, and they really sputtered out against good defenses. TCU stoned them (in a loss), and they weren't that good this year.

Are OL and RBs going to be as excited about USC under an air raid system? Probably since it's USC, but the system he has run is not one I'd want to block for or run in.

Speaking of Stepp, I was pretty pissed when Tillery missed a TOL on him on 3rd and short. A senior needs to have that play in the bag. I hate to say it, but Tillery has regressed quite a bit since Stanford.

Always makes our strength of schedule look better to choke-slam a nationally ranked USC team. Also, kudos to the coaching staff for assembling a quality pipeline of talent in the secondary and targeting athletic linebackers.

We play them next year at home with two good warm up games beforehand, then last on the schedule in 2020.

We seem to be doing fine playing a mediocre USC team every year. It really doesn't matter if they are a top 5 team or unranked. I'd rather not have to go to USC when we are 11-0 and they are 10-1 looking for a Rose Bowl or playoff.

Former Texas Tech head coach Kliff Kingsbury may be headed west.

According to Chris Trevino of 247Sports' USCFootball.com, Kingsbury "agreed in principle" to the offensive coordinator job under head coach Clay Helton. However, Ian Rapoport of NFL.com reported the deal has not been finalized because Kingsbury is still considering offers in both the collegiate and NFL ranks.

What's more, Bruce Feldman of Fox Sports talked to Kingsbury's agent, Erik Burkhardt, who said, "It's premature to say that any decision (by Kliff) has been made."

This would be another significant change to the Trojans staff following a 5-7 season if it did happen, as Trevino noted the Trojans already parted ways with defensive line coach Kenechi Udeze, defensive backs coach Ronnie Bradford and offensive coordinator/receivers coach Tee Martin. What's more, quarterbacks coach Bryan Ellis accepted the OC position at Western Kentucky.

Tbf our secondary is trending up big time in terms of talent and skill versus what we're used to. Air raid might be ok if we keep bringing in quality safeties and corners.
