To be fair, their class has elite talent but very small numbers. If you filter by 'average rating per player', I wouldn't be surprised if they're the #1 class in the country.

Edit: They ARE the #1 class in the country on 247 for last year, filtering by average ranking per player.

Also #1 class on rivals by average ranking. USC is still getting the best of the best.

That's not their problem though, depth is their problem. I'll take our 2013 class over their class every day of the week. They seriously lack depth even with their "best of the best" recruiting classes

Well duh. But I was just pointing this out for the OP who sarcastically said they can get whoever they want. That was as close to true last year as possible.

This team is crazy, and it's the same story as last year... they have the front end talent to win 10 plus games and make a run... they do.

they do NOT have the depth to do so, so can that top talent carry them all on its own is the question...

They really resemble the Brady ND teams in that their top five-ten players can hang with anyone's top five to ten players, but the drop off from there is pretty noticeable... their drop off is more numbers based than quality based as it was with the 05-06 teams but anyway.

I think this team can hang with anyone in the country from bama on down on their best day. It’s really a question of how often can they pull off that type of performance… it won’t be every weekend.

I thought about that... lol... they did win 10 games two years ago, even with said coach, but yeah.

I don't know acamp. That defense had more ho'es in it than the club on Saturday nights. When one of your best defensive players is from Ky that is typically not a good sign.

Which one happens?

NCAA: USC says he didn't do it? Sounds good to us, next case!

Or

NCAA: Something may have happened? Give us a year or two to investigate and rule on the case. We'll wrap it up right about the time Redd decides to go to the NFL.

USC denying it because it would be a violation... while they're on probation.

Why stop now... they've been doing that since what... 2001??? Let's not forget the Bush thing blew up so bad on them b/c it to was while on Proby.

I swear all the bar fights I got into (most non-physical fyi) with blow hard "SC fans" during the mid to late 2000's just all flooded back to me...

am I the only one who visualized Acamp's "fights" like this?

@registerusc:
USC has released a football “depth chart” with at least two co-starters at nine different positions, including QB.

When you have two...you don't have one

Kiffin keeping the depth chart that way for 2 reasons:

1. To keep up competition so the team fights to be better.
2. To keep high ego kids from transferring before the season. As long as you make it to week #1, kids are typically going to stick around for the year. He can't afford to lose depth at certain positions... especially QB.

this goes back to the Pete Carroll days when every other week there was a new RB as 'the starter'. Remember when USC had 8/9 RB's and (cant remember his name) transferred to Florida? I don't think USC has had a 1,000yard rusher since sometime in the 90's.

Similarly, they supposedly have all these skill position guys, but they use Marquise Lee as the starting WR, main kick returner, main punt returner; now they are/were talking about him playing DB.

Ego-maniac coaches, begat ego-maniac players.

Reggie Bush ran for over 1,700 yards in 2005.
