How successful are you at your job, 3T?

Under the "Alabama and everyone else" (not really) topic, the SEC is 1-3 in bowl games so far with Arkansas spanking Virginia Tech tonight. Mississippi State beat Miami (O)17-16 with a blocked FG in the final seconds. Looking forward to the next three games, which should be good.

Can answer your question on my success after the commitment announcements at the upcoming UA All American game. I would say cautiously optimistic describes where I am at. As far as the SEC this year? The wannabee's are still riding the coat tails of the Tide as some things never change.

Gotta run. Headed to pick out a washer and dryer at the local appliance store. You see legacy.... it's not all about cars, cash, etc. when it comes to success or failure in my second job. Find the need and meet it. After all, if momma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy.

Sources: Mario Cristobal could be leaving Alabama - FootballScoop

could be very big for oregon...dude just is a relentless recruiter

Kiffin's contract with Alabama ran through February. You wonder if Saban has tied up all his assistants the same way - past NSD and the Playoffs. If someone wanted to leave before the end of Feb like Kiffin or Cristobal, it would require a negotiated buyout and Saban would have veto power. An assistant could make an ass of themselves to be released or his agent - or the new team - could start "rumors", if the situation was not tolerable or the assistant just wanted to move on, start recruiting for the new team. Either way could act to some degree to counteract S's leverage. Then, it's a consideration for assistant coaches to be hired into that type of a program v. ND's where assistant coaches can leave earlier when the HC is staying. If the recruit calls and wants to know if you are staying, you have to be non-committal or have the HC call back.

From the player's viewpoint, as an example an OLmen recruited by Cristobal's or one of Kiffin's top ranked recruits, there is good reason not to sign on NSD and wait to see what happens. Maybe you keep an OV in your pocket or pay for an UV to another school after NSD like Oregon in this case.

Just have to mention this as an example of the arrogance, stupidity, and overall bucket of nuts and bolts that is an sec and in this case Alabama fan. Maybe I should include the word inferiority complex as in that is what the loud talking bully really is. Listening to Finebaum today which is always a mistake and a guy calls in to dispute the '66 '77 national championship of Notre Dame which at that time was a vote (of course). Anyway my thought was wow-these people are probably going to win another, they are the winningest program in college football today, (even if you don't like how they do it) what is the deal with dragging up a fictitious complain from 50 plus years ago-then it hit me-when you have this inferiority complex for whatever reason you will never be satisfied with whatever amount of success you attain. And just as a side note I'm old enough to know everything about those two seasons and Notre Dame was by far the loaded, better, team in those days. Alabama wouldn't have been able to hang with Mich State either. Its the exact reversal of today where all the pro prospects were on Notre Dame and Mich State while Alabama was a small well coached team that played with heart. Much like Notre Dame in 2012 when they played the pros and got their $##@$ handed to them if Alabama would have played Notre Dame back then they would have gotten the same treatment. Roll bucket of nuts and bolts.

I think Byrne's an excellent choice, but I was sort of expecting Ravens GM Ozzie Newsome to be our next AD. He's said more than once in recent years that eventually he would "come home."

What's the proposed penalty? The one year post season ban? The NCAA better come stronger than that or why wouldn't everyone cheat? The reward far outweighs the risk.

Ole Miss fans been bragging for past few years about how they buy players. It's the worst kept secret in CFB. Ole Miss getting nothing but mediocre talent for decades then suddenly grabbing 5-stars and top 10 classes is about like a guy hitting 5 HR/yr for 10 years, then suddenly adding 50 lbs of muscle and hitting 40 outta the park. Nothing suspicious about that at all.

I don't believe the NCAA has even ventured into proposed penalties at this point. This is Ole Miss trying to get in front of what will be a shit storm of bad publicity, with their self-imposed, one year postseason ban.

Side note: I love how Hugh Freeze is "standing up" for his team and his players. You almost get the sense they are innocent, HAHAHA. But then.......... everyone remembers that Tunsil repeatedly admitted to taking money from coaches. And now, the whole world realizes how Ole Miss and Hugh Freeze became such GREAT recruiters. Cash money ya'll.

Surely it'll be a lot worse than that. I'd think they'll strip a lot of schollies and maybe even hit Freeze and/or some staffers with a show cause if they can tie him or his assistants to payments. If they were flat out buying players and giving them extra benefits (which is what just about everyone believes), they may vacate lots of wins too. I think the NCAA knows virtually every school does some "normal" cheating. Ole Miss the past few years got so brazen and obvious about it that they crossed into SMU territory and the NCAA is likely to make an example of them by treating them like the star actress in a low-budget porn flick.

How about the conference also facing sanctions? I would be all for a conference having to forfeit a postseason bowl game for every team that is on a postseason ban. Maybe then conferences will start trying to better police the blatant stuff like what was happening at Ole Miss. And it was blatant.

And I do believe the NCAA will hammer Ole Miss on this with scholly reductions, a couple of show cause for some coaches, among other things. I do think Freeze gets off... that may be a whole different conversation as to why he would skate however.
