Apparently he owned the gun and had a receipt for when he purchased it recently. Just didn't have a carry permit. Marijuana found in the car too, but it wasn't his car and the owner of the car admitted it was his. Not a good look though. Sitting in a supermarket parking lot smoking weed. I hope Saban runs him till he pukes. And then runs him till he pukes up everything he's eaten since last Thanksgiving. Then benches his stupid ass for a week or two.

So I'm sure you all probably saw that the UF/LSU game was just straight up cancelled with the hurricane and people are losing their minds. I was curious what you all as neutral parties thought of the whole situation because obviously both UF and LSU fans have differing opinions.

Basically, for those of you who haven't read much into it, the hurricane is coming and UF stalled and stalled and stalled hoping that the storm was going to turn. It ended up not turning in time and it was decided Thursday late afternoon that it wasn't going to be safe, the emergency services might be needed elsewhere across the state, etc. Nobody is arguing really that the game should have been called, it had to be.

The issue however, is that UF decided that if it wasn't going to be played in Gainesville, at home, then it shouldn't be played at all this weekend. LSU offered to play it in Baton Rouge and (unconfirmed) rumors that there were places such as Birmingham and other neutral sites that they could have worked out.

Also, if Tennessee loses 2 games (they play A&M and Bama still) and Florida wins out, then Florida would win the division even though they lost to UT heads up and didn't have to play LSU. So Florida had a reason. If LSU wins out, they don't control their own destiny unless Bama loses another one besides if they lose to LSU. So LSU fans are pissed that by not playing this game, they might lose out on the division and dont control their own destiny.

There is an option the second last game of the season to cancel both teams "cupcakes" and play then but LSU would lose a home game and it would end up being a multi-million dollar loss by buying out both teams/losing out on revenue. LSU basically said they they aren't going to do this.

Do you think that UF was in the right to not play a scheduled home game away in one of the toughest places in the country? Tough to make a team lose a home game for a natural disater but everyone knows how big home field advantage is + the logistics of trying to travel in the storm. Especially when over 1/2 the team has family in a danger area.

Should LSU have to cancel their game at the end to make this work?

I dont think it will end up mattering tbh because I think either Tenn wins one of the games or Florida drops another and I'm not seeing LSU run the table but it's interesting to talk about.

Didn't know Butch Jones is not liked by his players.

Some of the players that quit the team have NFL aspirations....cough Jalen Hurd Cough...

I can safely say now the Hurd will not get drafted, why would an NFL use a draft pick on a quitter...UDGA sure, but not drafted.

Edit: seems to be conflicting reports about if Hurd has quit or not.

At this point is seems like a lot of rumors. Some probably true and some not.

I know he was just a kid when he signed up, and undoubtedly got sold a bunch of BS during his recruitment...

but if his family or coaches would have done any research at all, they would have seen what playing RB in Butch Jones' offense means. This shouldn't have been a surprising, soul-searching development to him.

This Jalen Hurd thing is pretty interesting. Supposedly he had a concussion during a game and sat most of the second half but was "forced" to go back out on a kick-off play and took another hit to the head. He then wasn't allowed to travel the next week as he was concussed and couldn't fly. BJ saying he was concussed on that final kick-off play and not earlier in the game. This could get pretty bad for Jones if the Hurd version of the concussion is true.

Kongbo's a stud.

Gonna land with Bama, probably.

Bama was in on his initial recruitment pretty heavy. Would not be surprised if that happened.

Also, amazing what expectations, winning, then going south can do for a team. Rocky Top and Butch Jones have appeared to hit a bumpy road.

Yeah, Bama would want him. But would Jones release him to play for another SEC team?

SEC East

SEC East

Last year the SEC East was 2-12 vs the SEC West. (Fla beat Ole Miss, Georgia beat Auburn).

This year the East is 1-9 vs the West (Kentucky kicked a 51 yd FG against Miss St as time expired). Four more cross-division games are to be played.
1. Florida vs LSU
2. Georgia vs Auburn
3. Vandy vs Ole Miss
4. Missouri vs Arkansas

Odds are that the SEC East will be 1-13 vs the West this year, totaling 3-25 over two years.

SEC East analytics came out today.

The SEC East race is an unnecessary debacle that Florida will probably win
Someone, technically, has to win this division. Let’s project it.
(SBNation)

2. The SEC East is really, really bad.
Almost incomprehensibly bad.

How bad has the SEC East become? According to S&P efficiency ratings by SB Nation's Bill Connelly, the Mountain West's Mountain Division is stronger than the SEC East in 2016.

That's not a misprint. A division with Wyoming, Boise State, New Mexico, Colorado State, Air Force and Utah State is considered better than a division with Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, South Carolina, Missouri and Vanderbilt.

If that doesn't set the SEC East's hair on fire, I don't know what will. Every time we think the SEC East can't get any worse, the bar drops lower.

The SEC West is by far the best division in the country once again. The average S&P+ rating in the West is plus-15.1 adjusted points per game, and that’s not just because of Alabama (though Alabama helps).

Auburn is up to No. 7 in the S&P+ ratings, and LSU is eighth. Ole Miss, with four losses to teams in the top 12, still checks in at 16th, while Texas A&M is 20th, bipolar Arkansas is 46th, and Mississippi State is 60th. The two worst teams in the divisions just scored huge wins (over Florida and A&M, respectively).

The East, meanwhile, boasts one team in the top 30: a Florida team that could be on the precipice of a huge fall. Tennessee sits at No. 32. And while teams like Kentucky and South Carolina have unquestionably played better football in the last month, no other East team ranks better than 58th.

The division leader, Florida, has games remaining against South Carolina, LSU and Florida State. The second place team, Kentucky, (5-4 overall and 4-3 in conference) has games remaining against Tenn, Austin Peay, and Louisville. Tennessee, who has a 2-3 conference record and an overall record of 6-3 has games remaining against Kentucky, Vanderbilt and Missouri.

Previous post shows how the SEC East has done against the SEC West.

Nowhere to go but up.
