I can only imagine the "dirt" that might be put out into the universe if the worst comes to pass.
lol yup... all I'm going to say is that 90% of the time when a program gets "burned" it's by:
1. A disgruntled player OR
2. A legal case where stuff comes up in discovery that is an NCAA violation
Methinks we're about to have some pretty disgruntled players... especially if they were under the impression during the early stages that this would be a quickly resolved process where they might take a zero on a paper at worst.
It is strange how none of this has come out yet...what they were specifically accused of doing and the extent to which it was done. I know there has been a lot of speculation, but not having the complete story makes me wonder.
I have to think we get KVR and DD back, possibly Williams. I don't know the extent of the other two. But those appeared, according to the earliest stories out there, to be the "least guilty" if that makes sense.

"Pick 1" game is hard for me. You could make a case for either of DVD or KVR, and, to a lesser extent, Ishaq.
DVD is the guy who both (a) could make the biggest impact, for the reasons Lax gave in his post #7974, and (b) is the least needed player in terms of depth, because we have plenty of functional guys at WR; DVD is just the best of them. We could put him opposite Fuller and he could give us some of what both Chris Brown and CRob bring, combined in one player, without having to shuffle guys in and out. I would love that.
I look at KVR as critical more for depth reasons than anything else. We are fine with Luke and Riggs at CB, and Farley has been playing out of his mind at nickel, but if any of those guys gets hurt, especially Riggs and Luke, it could be a significant problem for us because there is a drop-off from each of them to the next guy. (I really don't like Riggs returning punts right now for just that reason; we just can't afford to lose him to injury as long as KVR is out.)
The problem with Ishaq is similar, but not as dire with the way Blankenship and Trumbetti have come on. Utupo too.
The other thing about losing KVR and Ishaq for the year, if by some chance that happens, is that we could get them back next year, which would be a nice silver lining.
We could also get DD back next year if he has to sit out this year unless he can't come back because he has been suspended already. He has 2 years of eligibility left if you count this year.
If DD is suspended the whole year, all my vbucks says he'll never play here again. He'll transfer (academic hardship?) or most likely go to the NFL.
I may not have been clear, but my point was that KVR and Ishaq have not redshirted, so by not playing this year they preserve a 5th year that they would not otherwise have had. DVD redshirted his freshman year, so he already had a 5th year available, which means that -- just like with Golson last year -- any year he loses to suspension he really loses and cannot get back.
Is DD better than Robinson?

pretty muchAfter all this bullshit, it is crazy that tomorrow it actually starts.
Although I'm honestly not even willing to bet vbucks it DOES start tomorrow. I bet they'll take it to Thursday if possible.
