I think from the start they've said it's the Office of General Counsel that's handling it.

I feel for these guys though. Even if they are guilty, being totally in the dark for 2 months has to be absolutely agonizing and it's just horribly unfair to these kids. Like he said, if they found something that proves guilt, just do it and get it over with so they can move on and figure out their next steps.

Daniels, a redshirt junior and the team's second-leading receiver last season, told ESPN.

General Counsel conducted an investigation if I recall correctly. No one has clarified whether they were dealing with Academic Misconduct specifically or broader issues such as NCAA regulations.

I did not see General Counsel mentioned in any capacity in reading the Honor Code policies and procedures.

I would expect General Counsel to be involved along with the Compliance Office on any possible NCAA issues but I would not expect them to fulfilling the role of an Honesty Committee.

Kelly made mention of going down a new road. Perhaps, speculation on my part, the issues involved are uncharted waters for an Honesty Committee and that has brought GC in. Then again perhaps there was miscommunication/misunderstanding between Daniels and Fowler over the GC investigation and an HC Hearing.

I get that Daniels is frustrated. I'm not sure that talking to ESPN is the most productive approach. But I get it. This whole situation sucks.

I do think it's says something - what I'm not sure - that of the five only Daniels and his family have made any noise whatsoever. And they've made a fair bit. They certainly have a point about the process. But there's also a part of me that wonders if Daniels hasn't talked his way into a corner at this point.

And if they are not then you just took valuable reps away from players who needed it. He has to wait it out like everybody else for the sake of the team and not just 5 players. It sucks, but it's reality.
