And if they are not then you just took valuable reps away from players who needed it. He has to wait it out like everybody else for the sake of the team and not just 5 players. It sucks, but it's reality.

I can see your point in team drills, but a large majority is spent in individual drills. Getting these guys on the field and at football speed would be a priority. If they are cleared Thursday they would be a liability on Saturday. I don't know, that's a risky wager on the part of Kelly.

But that goes against everything the school has done to this point with holding them out. They are just gonna have to wait it out till after the hearings.... which hopefully by the end of the week they know where they stand.

I think that initially they were held out because there was no idea how long this is going to take. Now that they have an end date for possible resolution, I would definitely bring them back and allow them to integrate back into the team. BK even mentioned bringing them into meetings last week. Let's pull that bandaid off.

Not a good look for Daniels, but the timeline is bordering on absurdity. He's frustrated, as he should be. I think he wants his side out there because he doesn't trust the process.

Why in the hell are you going to go to the media NOW, when you know your hearing and fate are decided next week?

Dumb dumb dumb.

I agree, the timing is probably a bit bad given the hearings should be next week, but at this point I side with the kids over the administration. I was more upset with the kids at first for putting themselves in this situation, but at this point the school just looks silly with how long this has drug on. It's bad for recruiting, it's bad for image, and the dark cloud just looms over this year despite the fact we're 3-0. After today we're 1/3 of the way through the regular season, and these kids don't have an up or down from the school on the situation. It's just silly, I would be pissed if I was in their shoes too. The school has all the power here, and the kids are at their slow and painful mercy.

Really feel for him and the others. Sounds like they're against some control freaks who clearly don't have their best interests in mind.

School is almost in a no win situation. Wouldn't be surprised with this "special committee" if they're just going to burn everyone. I don't know how this drags on as long as it did without that being the outcome. If they reinstate people, then outsiders will go "WTF? What was all the hubbub about?" I also expected vacated games, but that seems like a separate issue at this juncture.

My guesstimate is that in the course of the initial interviews these kids got "good copped" into thinking everything was fine. At worst... take a zero on the assignment per typical standards. But instead, it became a purge. I don't think KVR expected to miss a minute of time much less have all this happen to him per standard operating procedure and his "involvement" in the whole thing. He's still the guy who I think has the best chance at reinstatement of everyone but who knows... what verdict each gets is really up in the air. Once this thing got weeks past the "wrap up" with no hearings though there's been an awful lot of pessimism.

At least we should* know next week.

No, what if they're not cleared? They return only when the hearing is over and they receive a favorable disposition

What if they aren't? The NCAA doesn't care if they practice. They just can't compete(play in a game).

I apologize if this has been talked about before but does anyone know if the judgment has already came down on Ishaq Williams? I have seen mentions of him being dismissed from the team and the others just suspended? Case in point Notre Dame vs. Syracuse: TV Info, Spread, Injury Updates, Game Time and More | Bleacher Report
about 3/4 the way down.

That injury report is the worst, most inaccurate representation I have ever seen! They are not even close on the injuries, let alone using an inaccurate preseason report on the withheld player actually being suspended or dismissed. There was a lot of earlier name calling to the numb nuts that actually originated this in the injury reports from game one and two. Now the shriveled raisins are actually repeating the inaccurate shoddy work from three weeks ago!

For all of you commenting on the process : the difference as some mentioned Kelly alluded to was the General Counsel's involvement. That made this a cluster-fvck by mere inclusion. The General Counsel was involved in the Lenay situation, weren't they? And that was how many hours of stealth investigation and reporting wrapped up with a neat bow. You are kidding yourself if you don't think that this is a situation of overkill. And therein is the rub. Can this whole situation be discharged without dead enemy bodies to show?

If I read that ESPN article right, DD says the player's hearings are Thursday and Friday, while Kelly said Tuesday and Wednesday.

According to Kelly's timeline, we have at least one hearing tomorrow, right? He said Tuesday and Wednesday (although, FWIW, DD's ESPN article said Thursday and Friday).

Do we want to know the outcome?

At this point, it's almost better if they're all 100% guilty and get the boot... because then at least the delay doesn't look so ridiculous.

My biggest problem is the time delay. They could be fully responsible and probably are to some extent yet they do not deserve this delay. At Xavier, I was on the conduct board the proceedings happen within 2-3 weeks from the incident occurring. We had a wide variety of hearings, but they also brought us in for special hearings if it was necessary if the occasion called for it. This goes along with the normal hearings every 1-2 weeks. These kids could either be going about their everyday life (playing football, going to other events and such) if they are not responsible. If they are they could have already transferred and begin studying at another school or getting ready for football at their new school.

The admin might cover up the inefficiencies of the whole process by claiming a lighter suspension for smaller offenses that has been fulfilled through time-served.

Basically saying that the length of the process doesn't matter at this point because they would have been sitting out anyway.

I think best case scenarion is they're cleared, and ND says it took long because of the thousands of emails and the fact that paid employee was included.

I think having them take classes this semester then saying half way through, sorry, that won't count.... is worst case scenario IMO.

I feel like this is the game you play with your girlfriend at the bar, "if me and your best friend were hanging off a cliff and you could only save one, who would you save?"

I'm bored, so lets play it. There are five of them, you can save one...who do you save?

If your GF has 4 best friends... she has zero best friends.

I would go with Ishaq to get some more help on the D line if collinsworth can come back. If collinsworth is out for the season I say Russell to help out the secondary. I think that even though DD is the best WR on the team we will still be ok once Amir comes back and with Robinson and our other receivers.

In the "pick 1" game give me Daniels. KVR is the best player and also has another year of eligibility... but Daniels:
1. Would give us a COMPLETE player opposite of Fuller. Would remove a lot of the inconsistencies we've seen from other guys.
2. Would get his dad to shut up... because if DaVaris gets kicked out of school, it's going to be a shit storm out there. No one else is going to run their mouths.

I could argue any of the 3 being the most important (seriously, dare me).

But I say DD, then KVR.

I can only imagine the "dirt" that might be put out into the universe if the worst comes to pass.
