I vacillate between being ticked off at the process and hoping that academia is doing the correct and responsible thing.

I look at what CK has been able to achieve with the Administration and do wonder if the program is being reeled in.

I also want the University maintaining their academic integrity. I would not want my kids attending Notre Dame, "the school that used to stand for something".

Further, when I look at this situation outside of fanhood-as if I were a student-athlete. I really get my a$$ chapped at an innocent being dragged through the mud on speculation.

Frustration says Captain Obvious.

The fact that there are football players involved matters a lot to people who have no say in the process, but it matters not at all to the people who do have a say. The process is the process, and if it were not football players involved nobody would know about it and nobody would care, and certainly nobody would be saying the process is taking too long.

Yes college students have manageable schedules on an individual level, but they're much more difficult to coordinate with one another. Just about every business professional is in the office Monday through Friday, 8:30 to 5:00 or thereabouts. Students are in class "here and there" anywhere from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, with clubs, work, and extracurriculars sprinkled throughout. Each kid might have 5 or 6 "free hours" in a day, but coordinating 10 different kids who all have a DIFFERENT 5 or 6 hours is near impossible. When Joey gets out of Calculus, Cindy is in band rehearsal. Mark gets out of work at 3 but, oh shoot, that's when Kyle's engineering lab meets.

In the business world, you can drop an important meeting on someone's calendar and they can reschedule their conflicts. Kyle can't reschedule his engineering lab.

So finally it comes out.......you know the people on this council. And you've been holding it back. So whats the good info?

Can someone present to me a plausible scenario wherein SOMETHING prompts the administration to launch an honor committee investigation and these guys DIDN'T do it? The best case scenarios I can come up with involve lack of PROOF, but I mean, come on... they probably did it, right?

And you didn't do this, but for those that say 'what if it was Purdue? Would you care?'. The answer is no, I would not care as much. But I'd still feel it was BS, and ask that person, 'what if it was Michigan?'

I don't necessarily disagree, koonman, but as I've said before in this thread: I think that is a totally different argument. Saying the school's procedures are antiquated or just patently unfair is fair game, but to say they should be ignored because football players are involved is not. Maybe the process needs an overhaul, but the process is the process for the time being.

You (and we) have no idea whether there is even a sliver of truth to that. Its just another rumor, albeit a hopeful one. Is that even plausible? I want it to be true, but doesn't seem to fit. There is a difference in someone giving info based on what they've heard, and deliberately spreading false information. The latter would be a problem, but is obviously not Jimmy's intent.

Having an issue is one thing, but going on the attack and telling another poster to shut up isn't how things work.

I am frustrated with the situation and the people that have made the situation worse. I texted Wildman today stating that I didnt know ND had so many insiders on social media, and each day there are more.

I wouldnt lump JimmyMac into that catagory. He isnt guaranteeing dates/times/or even situations like 95% of the posts on social media or message boards are. He is one of the few people on this specific board that go to ND and has a birds eye view of everything taking place. He has a perspective that many of us dont have.

Im not going to get into a right or wrong debate. I have been wrong many a times. ND Football is definitely ever changing. So one thing may be corrected/thought out/etc but then it gets handled and it goes a different path.

All in all...I havent said a word about the investigation bc I dont know anything. The people that I have contact with that would know...they dont know anything. This thing I hope is winding down, so there might be someone that knows that outcome, but I would find it very very hard to believe that person(s) would run to a computer or social media outlet to report it because that person is in that position because they wont do that.
