The funniest thing is that Stanford... a team we beat, had more losses, and struggled with a 6 loss big ten team in their bowl game... is a top 5 lock.
People have overreacted like crazy to the championship game blowout.
Stanford may have beaten us with Kevin Hogan at QB. They're going to be really good this year.
They lose a lot though, while their line will be stout, Taylor is gone, Ertz is gone and I think their top WR is gone as well. I'm not worried, the mitigating factor here is a road game.
What does this mean? Because we play them in the sand pit this year. Probably a better team than last year, with Barry Saunders, Jr., and a bunch of young talent they could be better this coming year than next. It is two years when they could suffer a fall off.
The Michigan game will certainly be a good one, always will be. But there are some big time question marks for the offense of Michigan. They replace all of their interior linemen, breaking in a new running back with pretty much a new offensive line won't be easy, and I think they lost all of their starting receivers?
"The could only bring a small class and they had certain holes to fill," was the argument for something like the 63rd rated class they pulled in. But I don't buy it either. I know they will get a short class every four years, but that doesn't mean poor and short, does it?

Nope, they only lost 1 in Roy Roundtree.
Gallon (5'8) is the top target returning with Dileo as a strong slot guy.
What does this mean? It means an eastern team is flying west to play in their stadium. Perhaps that was difference in Stanford travelling to ND this year? I fully expect us to win because I don't think they will be as solid as last year.
Wait, your top target is a 5'8"? Yikes. I like Gallon as much as anyone, but to be the #1 WR on any team is pretty crazy. Frankly a rebuilt line with a still learning Gardner, and remember his hype was against the dregs of the BIG, and the rest of the receivers don't scare me at all. Funchess dropped off during the year. How's the RB situation?
ESPN updated their top 25 list. Notre Dame drops to #10 (from # 9).
Ohio State new #1?
Michigan is now ahead of ND at #9, up for #12???

Well OSU has an easier schedule soo they must be the better team...

If OSU is going to have a great season, I hope they go undefeated along with us. Pinch the SEC out of a title game, and we'd have a great chance of winning.
I can't realistically conceive of the SEC champ getting frozen out of the NCG. An undefeated OSU is much more likely to keep a 1-loss ND out.
The fact that they update a pre-season top 25 list with a second pre-season top 25 list is humorous in itself to me.
The OSU schedule is a joke. Urban Meyer should be fired if doesn't go 11-1. If there was a lock to go undefeated it is OSU.
Who is going to beat them? Michigan? please
