Agreed. I don't know why people get so bent out of shape over innocuous shot.

Things like this bother me though.

Kind of directed at this post but kind of a general statement"

I believe that the PC crowd has gotten out of control.

I also believe that the anti-PC crowd is now getting out of control.

Just as the PC crowd is overly sensitive to what is said, the anti-PC crowd is swing to the complete other end of the pendulum. What we need to do is find a middle ground.

Why? Because something might be offensive enough that someone should stop and deal with it instead of just moving on? I think that the PC crowd has gone to far, but this anti-pc movement that you shouldn't be offended by anything or that if you are offended you should just move on, is just as ridiculous.

Unless we're talking about children, of course you should just move on.

Who said that I was offended? Just pointing out the stupidity of both sides.

It bothers me that both sides are stupid.

ETA: That is why I said it is kind of directed at your post and partly a general statement.

Really? So there aren't some things that need to be stopped and dealt with? So we should just walk past the racism and ignore it and move on or should we be offended by it, stop and deal with it?

What racism would that be?

Of course you go there. Lets say that you see a person being turned down service and the person doing it uses a racial slur? Do you stop and say something or do you ignore it and walk past?

What if you heard a co-worker who was hiring an employee, say that he wouldn't hire his last interview because he was black? Would you do something about it or just move on?

How about abortion? Does abortion offend you? Do you choose to try and do something about it (such as voting for pro-life candidates, speaking out against abortion, etc)? or do you just move on?

There are real things to be offended about in life. Are people too easy to offend currently? Yep, but the opposite side which is don't get offended or just move on seems just as wrong (well not always just sometimes).

NONE of that has anything to do with political correctness. I'm actually glad you brought it up, because it's something the Trump supporters get wrong constantly. Trump acts like an asshole and then his followers are all "oh, look how awesome Trump is, he's so un-PC."

My boy Ben Shapiro explains it flawlessly.

While the video kind of covers it, do you see it as being PC to not use the N word?

How would you feel if you were with someone who called a random black person a "stupid ******"? Would you be offended and say something to them? Would you ignore it?

Depends on the context.

Of course that's inappropriate because it's based in hatred. Being based in hatred, it's actual racism and not just political correctness.

The PC counter-point would be banning The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn from school libraries because there's a character referred to as "Nigger Jim."

I agree with you, however I know a fair number of conservatives (mostly uncles and cousins) who would argue that it is being overly PC because it isn't like you are harming them (you aren't denying a job, etc). I just stare at them like they are crazy.

I also agree that banning things like Huckleberry Finn because it has the N word is being overly PC.

How do you feel about people calling/emailing tv stations to complain about a gay couple kissing on a television show?

Wearing a ball cap and eating a hot dog is the most American shit there is.

Only if sitting in a Chevy picks-em-up truck bed while shooting a Bud Light – since Pabst no longer makes Red White and Blue.

Followed by a slice of apple pie (with Wisconsin cheddar cheese) and washed down with a half gallon of California contented cow milk.

Waving an American flag while wearing an American flag pin wouldn't hurt.

And all while humming "God Bless America."

Triggered! Instapundit spots safe space violation in university snowflakes’ PC push – twitchy.com

Apparently saying “hey guys” or “hey ladies” could cause people to scurry for their safe spaces at UC Davis, so an alternative has been proposed:

I still can't get over this stuff... it really bothers people when another person says, "Hey guys!".... I mean, THAT'S what gets you ready to fight and organize? That's your all mighty cause??

The Great Indoors, Which Is About Offending Millenials, Is Offending Millennials

War broke out today between millennial media and the cast and creators of CBS' new comedy series The Great Indoors, in which Joel McHale stars as an adventure reporter who becomes boss to a group of millennials in the digital department of their magazine.
The millennial in the group said he did not like it because of the jokes about millennials being coddled, too sensitive and thin-skinned. The woman running the focus group, Gibbons said, clarified: "So, you were offended by millennials being portrayed as too sensitive."

Ellen DeGeneres Blasted for Usain Bolt Twitter Photo

This is a PERFECT example of political correctness gone wrong.

Agreed, but I'm all for her getting throttled by the Twitter mob. It's insane, but you can't have it both ways. You can't prop yourself as superior to boorish masses based on some silly code that is disconnected from reality, and then demand special treatment from your irrational mob when you break the rules for a split second.

She's obviously not racist, but PCness has nothing to do with actual racism. It has everything to do with moral posturing. Pridefully identifying yourself as part of a superior, enlightened group.

It's like the riots in Milwaukee. I'm perfectly happy with someone saying that they have nothing to do with the BLM movement, and don't represent black people in general. I agree 100%--at least with the second part. But if that is the case, the same has to be applied to other groups. Not every ass-clown white guy who gets on TV represents the tea party, or Trump, or whatever it happens to be. You can't have it both ways.
