I can't stand the politics of anyone with a name that difficult to pronounce.......
Milo is my favorite. The Milo-Shapiro debate on The Rubin Report is going to be nerdgasmic for me. I'm sure Whiskey finds him appalling.
Intellectually, I am. I disagree with Milo wholeheartedly in his support of Trump and think it shows some serious cognitive dissonance on his part when it comes to his political positions. But Milo is so much more fun. This surprises me, wizards. I would have assumed you to be more on Shapiro's side than Milo's.
Understood, but I think he's a net good thing for the cause of liberty. As he says, the Left doesn't know what to do with him because they can't attack him on the standard lines of racism / sexism / bigotry / homophobia. He also penetrates the bubble of liberal colleges and starts conversations that otherwise wouldn't be had on campuses.I can see why Milo appeals to some on the right; he turns the left's own rhetoric against it, and who doesn't enjoy seeing their enemies hoisted with their own petard? But my reaction is similar to kmoose's. Such tactics are like a sword without a hilt; there's no way to employ them without damaging yourself in the process.

That's not even some left-wing blog. That was published by an actual college.Wtf?
This is real.
Correct. Even if you don't think you're racist, you still benefit from white privilege so it's impossible for you to not be racist. So according to #10, all white people are racist and always will be.
I saw something on Facebook over the weekend that I thought was interesting.
It showed definitions from various places of "Black Pride," "Hispanic Pride," "Asian Pride," and "White Pride."
The Black, Hispanic and Asian entries all began with "is a way for [person of this race] to express pride in their culture and heritage."
The White entry began with "a signal of racism or racist movements."
I obviously understand why this is the case, but it still interesting to me that it would be a problem if I stood up and said, "I'm proud of being white, and of my white heritage."
Your proud of your ancestors stealing land, spreading disease, committing genocide on religious minorities, and enslaving people of color?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Camp will fight you over those words.I'm proud of my ancestors taking fine Asian and Mexican cuisine and then Americanizing them, making it much more delicious and available.
Taco Bell and any Chinese joint FTW!
Camp will fight you over those words.
And OH, the privilege. Those test scores and salaries tho...Also, I went to a high school that was majority Asian, and to this day it cracks me up how they get a total pass despite being BY FAR the most overtly racist group of people I've ever met (Koreans worst of all). Only time I've ever had to date a girl "in secret"...
Someone chimed in and said he can't be racist, because he's a POC. So the other person said "well if a white person said that..." and the person replied "if the white person said it they would be racist because they are racist oppressors and it would be an act of exclusion."
Not a single argument made by any of these BLM people or their ilk would pass a philo 101 class because the logic just does not work. All of the premises are flawed. All of them.
In a Muhammad Ali discussion on another site, someone pointed out that he was racist because he said a lot of racist things and that he "preferred to only associate with people of his color" or something like that.

I had friends and roommates that were Korean in college and they always complained about how racist the Japanese were.
