No, I was pointing out how it's PC to call literally every single white person racist (see: Wizard's earlier post) but when I share my personal experience (which I qualified saying things "in Northern Virginia" and "of people I tried to date") that was somehow not allowable.

I misinterpreted what GoldenDome was saying, but ACAMP read it the same way.

This was pretty much exactly the point I was trying to make, and I wasn't trying to say ALL of them were racist. I was saying that, in my experience, they are by far the most overtly racist groups of people I've ever encountered. That doesn't mean every person in the group is racist, it means they had the highest frequency of showing overt racism. And on a larger scale, there are studies/polling data to support this. Yet I've never once heard a protester or blogger or anyone else comment on racism from Asians.

That's fair. I apparently misinterpreted what you meant in the same way that you misrepresented what GoldenDome meant. Talk about racial issues carries a lot of baggage, so we should all be careful to ensure that what we say is not open to misinterpretation (me included) to not to come off wrong and therefore give license to folks hijacking our comments to make a point that was unintended.

Some argue that is what is happening with Trump's comments (although to me this is his desired effect on people inclined toward racial ignorance). Racism is a raw topic and we should be careful not to unintentionally make the abrasion worse when we confront the topic. Applying the PC tag to every objection is, in my view, cynical and not helpful. I apologize for misrepresenting your meaning.

Good point.

To be clear, I guess I failed the first time I tried to clarify, I didn't take anything from GoldenDome's posts and wasn't touching on them in any way, I simply took one point within one of LAX's posts and touched on an aspect of our PC discussion that I have noticed before and always dislike... I did this completely outside of the context of the dialogue between my man LAX and GoldenDome... I thought it touched on something all on it's own that was worth mentioning.

To back up a step, this whole train starts at me sharing my experiences.

GoldenDome posted that my post was manure... which I thought meant "you can't talk about racism from a non-white group of people"...

So I responded to that, and ACAMP followed up to my post with "It's not about right or wrong anymore... It's not. What's right or wrong can completely change from situation to situation according to who is 'PC acceptable' or who isn't... You have the bully pulpit crying about everyone else judging things according to race, but all they do is judge every situation according to which race(s) are involved, go change the skin color and their reaction can completely do a 180"...

All of it is a bit of a moot point, because that's not what GoldenDome was trying to say. But ACAMP's point sort of operates outside the context of me misinterpreting what GoldenDome was saying, and is a valuable contribution to the thread.

...and all of this gets back to what GoIrish just said, which is that we should probably be more careful and precise when discussing sensitive topics like race. I'm going to go delete a bunch of posts here in a sec.

Can anyone explain Tumblr to me? My understanding has always been that Tumbler is a dumb site to find memes and fan art, but I keep seeing it thrown around on YouTube when people talk about internet havens for the SJWs and intersectional feminists.

That's pretty accurate. The only "tumblrinas" I know in real life are basically walking caricatures of SJWs

Yes, it is...as an example:

Tumblr is the home of "Stucky" the fan "shipping" of Captain America Steve Rogers and Winter Soldier James Buchanan "Bucky" Barnes. There is tons (and I do mean TONS) of art and fan-fic depicting the two of them together in a physical relationship.

'nuff sed

PS...oh, and also pron

So there's nothing explicitly SJWish about the platform, it's just that the SJWs tend to congregate there in greater concentration than they do on Facebook / Twitter / Instagram for some reason?

Is there a shortage elsewhere on The Internet for that kind of thing?

I believe you are right. I don't think it is liberal in nature, just in practice based on the users. Same deal with imgur.

Two posts can take place, one of a very flamboyant homosexual relationship getting married with a bunch of LOVE WINS and LOVE IS LOVE in the comments and positive rep. The other could be a picture of a couple at the March for Life in DC and the comments/reputation will be mixed at best.

Haha, Tumblr is good for finding pre-made, uh, "compilations" of images and other types of media, rather than having to search things out yourself.

Find one good Tumblr page, and you can scroll through content for hours without having to search, weed through bad results, or deal with filters yourself.

Who looks at porn for hours?

I'll need to find the clip of the comedian who talks about how eight minutes is an eternity in internet porn. I think it might have been Louis CK.

Haha the "for hours" was about other materials. Kind of like our own "Funny Pictures" thread.

No one watches p o r n h u b for more than 5 minutes haha.

Put this here instead of President thread as it is more about tolerance than Trump

Lol that actually is pretty blatant even though I'm sure it was unintentional.
