I agree. I've been fortunate enough to visit many major cities around the world and Chicago would be at or very near the bottom of my favorites list and don't get me started on the airport.

I agree if there's a car involved. I think it's a fun city otherwise, but as a frequent business traveler I'd like to force Chicago to put up a hundred mile long 'people-who-want-nothing-the-f*ck-to-do-with-Chicago' bypass and make all residents of Illinois pay 10 bucks to drive through my ugly, empty state too.

Oh I don't disagree. I always like it when I visit. It's just that most of the time, Chicago=traffic for miles with no escape and not much else for me. Also everyone there drives 15+over the site limit, which stresses me out considering the entire state is a construction zone and it just seems all the speed limits are lower than they should be just so you have to choose between following traffic and following the law.

In SFO you can get great sushi and a massage, at O'Hare you can get a layover. Seriously the last five times I've flown through there were all nightmares.

I also hate NYC but I associate much more strongly with Providence and Boston, so I'm not sure it matters. Having lived in New England, South Bend, and Orlando, the New England weather is my favorite and it's not even close.

Yep. Driving through Chicago is just unavoidable for me though. The city's location, size, and perpetual rush hour make it what it is for the trips I need to take every month. I visit Chicago frequently though, and never make the mistake of driving around in the city. I would also still like to charge residents of Illinois to drive through my state.

Chicago only sucks when you live on the east or west coasts and your only interaction with it is O'Hare.

I haven't flown in or out of that nightmare in 10 years. Thank goodness for Southwest and Midway airport.

...and after 4 months in LA/OC/SD, I will neeeeever complain about Chicago traffic again.

When it's in the 70's, sunny w/ low humidity, Chicago's the absolute best city in the world. Those are my favorite 5 days every year without doubt. No italics.
