There was almost a brawl at a soccer game between these two school last year. Travelers Rest is a predominately white school and Berega is predominately Hispanic. During the soccer game last year TR students were doing a lot of "cheers" about sending immigrants back to their home country. The Berega players took exception and started fouling the TR players pretty hard. The game was called just after halftime cause it was completely out of control.

The flag being brought to the game was most definitely not just a random kid bringing a US flag to a football game. There was obvious intent behind it and those intentions weren't to be the honoring of USA.

I gathered there was tension...I gathered the flag carried by TR was meant to instigate.

The solution remains the same. The Berega principal should have handed out flags...

Game over...think about it.

Something I get tired of and this may have been brought up already but the amount of false information that is spread on social media sites is unbelievable. I normal stray away from political banter but the more and more false statements are made. I feel I have to say something before too many people are full of false truths. No wonder so many people hate, they get filled with lies.

Much of the reason so many are willing to believe anything said in the news or on social media, regardless of how blatantly and obviously false it is (as long as it confirms their views) is that our schools (especially our colleges) as well as our culture in general have stopped teaching kids HOW to think and instead focus on teaching them WHAT to think... in other words, indoctrinating them. Unable to sift the wheat from the chaff, bereft of critical thinking skills, and having little or no ability to determine if something is fact or fiction, or having anything approaching a functional BS detector, they're ripe for any snake oil salesman and all too willing to believe anything as long as it conforms to the beliefs they've already been indoctrinated with. Sadly, they don't even understand why they SHOULD have a BS detector or ask themselves whether something is true or plausible.

So they use Glitter Man instead of just drawing a Seminole so as to not offend that particular group of Native Americans... who just so happen to be very supportive of FSU calling themselves the Seminoles. SMDH

One of the funniest things I have ever read, in regards to college football, was a comment in an article on espn.com, 10 years back or so, about "East Coast Bias". A bunch of PAC-10 fans were whining and crying their eyes out about how the polls have such an East Coast Bias. Some Big X fan came along and pointed out that the polls had crowned USC #1, despite USC not playing in what was considered the MNC game. He concluded his coments with, "Apparently, intelligence has an East Coast bias, as well." This article just reminded me of the debate that was raging back then, and the funny comment....
