Maybe we shouldn't burn the boats on this one as we may need them

Friday night, problem solved.

Mid terms should not be for at least another week so I don't see how moving it up should be overly disruptive to academics.

Funny thing is my son's baseball team rescheduled a game from Thursday evening to Saturday noon this week - why even try that?

Is there a reason why we don't play Thursday/Friday games? Is it cause of contract with NBC?

Anyone know of how cancellations are handled for ticket-holders (re: reimbursement)?

If at all possible, they'd probably postpone it to the weekend after thanksgiving, right?
That's what they did the weekend after 9/11 (last time I remember ND canceling a game). Tickets stayed the same, just the game was three months later.
If the weather is really lousy that doesn't seem like a bad idea here.

Also, moving game to Sunday shouldn't be an option. Winds of a Cat 2 Hurricane are around 100 mph. Raleigh could see steady winds of 50 mph+ for a sustained period. The region could be a mess with downed trees and power outages. Don't need all the out of towners in the way and All 3 local teams are at home this Saturday.

It's not just the 60k for ND/NCS. Duke and UNC both have home games Saturday as well.

It'll be the only time we shutout a team this year.

An ND defensive shutout would be the most improbable weather-related upset since the defeat of the Spanish Armada in 1588 or perhaps even the Grandaddy of Them All Israelites vs. Egyptians on the floor of the Red Sea in the last game of Pharaoh's career.

Unless they play Friday early, it will be postponed/cancelled. This hurricane is 715 miles in diameter. When the eye is off the coast of Savanah it will be impacting Raleigh. When the eye hits Wilmington, Raleigh is a quarter way into the storm, high wind and rain. Much worse than Clemson was.

I just heard that we were a one point underdog. Could that be possible? WTF!

People complain about South Bend weather, this will NDs second hurricane game in two years on the south east coast..... if it's played this weekend.

Right. Clemson was like someone turned on a Moen shower head and it just never stopped raining. There was little sustained wind and it was remarkably pleasant outside of the rain and accumulation.

Can someone point me in direction on where I can review the press conference transcript today?

Tons of high school games in the area have been moved to Thursday night. Pretty much nothing on Friday night.

I don't see any way they can keep this at noon Saturday - that is right in the teeth of when this is likely to get sh!tty around here. Sunday only works if we stay on the periphery. Any abundance of rain and wind has too much chance of power outages and downed trees that expecting the area to be up and running by noon Sunday is silly.

I'm supposed to be making the drive down to Raleigh from South Bend. I am now having second thoughts.

I am going to the Penn State/Maryland game at 12n, in Happy Valley, then we are getting out of there and driving to NJ for the 8pm Michigan/Rutgers game. I hope all of this rain doesn't wash away my saltiness....

Should be in the fourth-sixth range of thoughts by now.

Lol if they are gonna have the game as scheduled then I will be fine with it. I just don't want to drive all the way down there just for them to cancel the game.

Agreed. We're flying down to Raleigh on Thursday morning and don't want to get there only to have them cancel the game.
