NSo we're on the road against a team that ranks 14 on offense and 62 on defense per S&P while we're 13/84. On paper, we should lose this game... and it might even get ugly.

Their schedule so far:

vs William & Mary
at East Carolina
vs Old Dominican
vs Wake Forest

Now -1.

The weird thing looking at this game is that NCST is probably the best team we've faced so far, and no one would've thought that'd be the case heading into this game. Texas, MSU, and Duke all have a whopping ZERO wins over Power 5 teams. They also have BY FAR the best QB if you believe QBR.

On paper, Sagarin dropped ND's schedule from 29th toughest to 58th while NCS's schedule soared all the way up to 115th after beating Wake Forest.

The 58th toughest team is Arizona in a cohort of Air Force, Missouri, and Troy State. The 115th toughest team is Old Dominion in a cohort of Coastal Carolina, Western Illinois, ... and #117 Nevada.

On the other hand, Sagarin has ND ranked #39, NCS #43, Texas #47, MSU #52, Duke#74, Syracuse #88, and Nevada #117.

Based on their game with Wake, it looks like NC State will love pressing the ball vertically and forcing our DBs to make plays. Back end has to step up and the D-line needs to get some pressure...and yes, I realize that's probably our two biggest weaknesses. Play ball boys.

Can't help but think the swing is due to weather and this more than likely going to be turning into a ground game. Which would make sense seeing as ND's run game has been "not to par" and the strength of NCST is their run defense

I would much rather play Friday in decent weather than Saturday in the rain - largely because I will be in attendance.

I likely have an extra pair of tickets either way - PM me if interested.

ND loses to this clown program and it might as well join the MAC.

Good, not great, teams would consider NCS an off week game

Of course. The only game I am going to this year. It would make more sense to move the to Sunday. Friday is going to have high wind and rain.

Weather.com's model shows a Cat 2 Matthew's eye hugging the coast around Wilmington at kick off. That is worst case scenario for a football game in Raleigh. That would put the heaviest rains and wind fields on the northside of the storm being fed by warm ocean water. They should move the game to Friday night.

After the Clemson monsoon I would think Swarbrick would have already made this happen.

Kelly just said there have NOT been any talks about moving to Friday. They have talked about Sunday. That there would be a conf call today for further discussions.

Also, moving game to Sunday shouldn't be an option. Winds of a Cat 2 Hurricane are around 100 mph. Raleigh could see steady winds of 50 mph+ for a sustained period. The region could be a mess with downed trees and power outages. Don't need all the out of towners in the way and All 3 local teams are at home this Saturday.

To keep things in perspective... It could be worse. Okinawa is bracing for possibly the strongest storm ever recorded, Super Typhoon Chaba with measured winds of 233 mph. Prayers out to our service men & women stationed there and the people of Japan in general.

Actually, I just looked at model that would suggest the game could be played in the eye of the storm under somewhat calm skies. The tailgating however would set an all time level of suckiness.

Anyone know of how cancellations are handled for ticket-holders (re: reimbursement)?
