I agree he's not been perfect. But I also think he's been the most impressive (YPC is significantly higher I believe).

We don't have time to talk that non-sense. We just do situps.

Like I said, I don't think any are complete backs right now... But 5.1 YPC vs. 3.9.... That's significant. At some point you have to roll the dice on talent.

Cam is Cam, solid, dependable, and reached his peak (still worth carries). Folston is the same, but I think he's a better runner and hasn't peaked, mainly due to not getting in his groove... It's clear IMO that Greg has not peaked. Let's let him peak all over the trees.

What I'm saying is, if you consider 'athleticism' as part of being complete, the other two aren't because they're not at Bryant's level in that regard, IMO. They can do it all, but not as well.

Greg's the best runner. Based on my opinion and what he's producing compared to the other two.

Right, that's why I said none of them are complete backs. But it's easier for him to reach Cam's level of blitz pickup, than it is for Cam to become a better runner, obviously.

I'm not arguing that Bryant's as good as Cam/Folston at blitz pickup, but it's not like he's been getting Golson killed when he's out there, either.

I don't mean to be snide, but if Bryant's missing blitz pick-ups, I haven't noticed.

That's a very technical way of looking at it, but I'll play your game since you passed me the ball. If he makes the defense legitimately fear him (which I don't think Cam/Folston will do), it opens up everything on the offense. It very easily could result in an additional win.

Having a legit ground attack to go along with Golson? Sign me up for that.

No sense in debating with you if you're going to play that card since it cannot be trumped. I simply don't like the run game as is, and will feed the guy who's making the most of what little space is provided, and averaging over 5 yards a carry as opposed to the two that are at 3.9. Especailly now that yards are going to be tougher to come by.

Since 12:00 this afternoon, in 1 thread. It's ok to step away for a while. I just get this image of you arguing w your mother about when it's time to go to bed. Please make it stop.

So I can either defend my opinion and get picked on for doing so... Or state my opionion, run and hide after it's challenged, then be called a 'drive by guy'.

There's always the ignore button, lol.

No, but it's a significant part of the argument in this case. It applies less to Stanford, because all of their RBs seem to be producing well at over 5 YPC.

You don't think Bryant shouldn't be getting more carries. I do because I think he's our best runner, per my opinion of watching him vs. the others, and his YPC. Let's not get our undies in a bundle over it. It's OK to disagree. You have the coaches on your side, so of course you win :).

YPC is the sol factor in high school, man. Not college or pros. You need to step back from that argument. Whiskey is 100% correct. Too many other important aspects to the position besides YPC. GB is close. He's just not TF, Cam yet.

I'm simply on the side that Greg's limitations are correctable whereas the difference in running ability between him and the others is innate and cannot be made up. And time will help him with the blocking.

So I think he should get more time. I'll stop posting about this now since it's apparently wrong.

I LOVE YOU ALL I AM SORRY FOR ARGUING.

I would prefer them to correct it in practice, not in possibly our toughest game of the season, while putting our most important player at risk of injury.

The team that loses the turnover battle in this game will lose. You can count on that.

Sometimes I wonder if koon's love of GB is not just a gag.

Koon, you're right that GB has produced more in terms of yards per carry than the other backs, but you're discounting the "hidden yards" that the offense would essentially lose with GB being on the field "while he learns" in certain situations.

He might gain 2 extra yards per carry, but if the offense is bogged down by his limitations on other, non-carry plays, it's a moot point.

I understand that. I wish they would have left him in more in the passing game during the 'blow out's. I also trust Cam/Folston more to protect Bryant, but I don't think he's as much of a liability as a blocker as some of you guys, but I understand your points.

i think we can all agree that BK would rather have that one guy that does it all and is the best at everything.

However, we clearly dont have that.

The good thing for GB is that once he does get the hang of the playbook and PassPro he will be the guy.

That is because as Koon mentioned, he is the better athlete/explosive runner. That is an "unlearnable" trait where knowledge of the playbook and pass pro can be taught.

If Bryant was closer to on par with the other two backs he'd be getting a greater share of carries/snaps. Since he isn't currently, I think we have to trust the coaches that he has more ground to make up.

Just saw an article on ESPN. Apparently ESPN thinks we will win the game against Stanford.

I dont know how I feel about that. I always like ND as the underdog. So when they win, it feels good to shut the haters up.

Damn my asshole friends for getting married on Saturday!

Any friend that gets married on a Saturday in the fall is no friend at all. /noitalics

I find it especially humorous when people at the reception complain about men checking scores. What did they expect?

Interesting. There could very easily be three losses out of that group this weekend.

Kid you not two of my friends are getting married FSU weekend. I've been trying to hint to my girlfriend that she should ask about the availability of a TV at the reception. I have to think one will be available. This guy is a huge CFB fan/gambling addict.

Is this the same FPI that gave us a ~3% pre-season chance of beating FSU? :jerkit:

Forget checking scores. My friend got married BYU weekend 2012 and we were live-streaming the game on our phones.

figured id go here with this one, I got a concert down in Philly all day/night saturday that ill be attending, tickets bought months ago without checking the schedule (fail)... thinking/ hoping i can keep my discipline to keep my phone in my pocket all day in airplane mode, and just head back to school and catch the game.. the problem being- I don't have a DVR at school, and believe me if i had a VCR id dust that thing off and pop in a tape and kick it old school. but unfortunately thats out of the cards too, SO..

is there anyway I can find the game that night? perhaps a stream or something along those lines?

my wife got us tickets for an Octoberfest which she thought i would love...i said the games at 330pm better find a friend to take...

And I've just been informed I'm sitting at the head table (for whatever damn reason) so sneaking out of the reception is a no go.

My best man got married during the Olympic Hockey final USA/canada that went to OT... The reception hall had a side room with the game on... there almost wasn't a reception, just about every male in the place was in the side room watching the game... lol

How are your numbers looking for the weekend?

F/+ picks for Week 6 aren't out yet. Should be very soon, though. Most of the quantitative models love Stanford, so they'll likely predict an Irish loss. I think the betting line (Stanford -1) is probably more accurate. Feeling quietly confident about this game.
