Does anyone know where to hear the radio call of the last TD? I would love to hear it.

I heard it either on college football final or one of the ND produced videos from last night. Check the ICON one.

What's the solution here? Are Bivin/Montelus/Nelson worthy of playing time? We've heard nothing other than the starting five and Hanratty/McGlinchey are the top seven.

I think Elmer needs to sit as well. I think he might be injured but he was terrible yesterday. Hegarty and him were owned all day. Part of the reason we couldn't run the ball

Elmer is certainly not a lost cause for his career at ND (not that anyone is saying that), but maybe he and the team could benefit from another playing instead of him?

And I'll go ahead and say it-- there is a level of concern for me that Elmer, the (probable) best OL recruit in his class has now been at ND for 21 months, and his level of play is what it is. And that concern extends to all the H Brothers being in the program even longer, but not better than Elmer. And that none of the other guys in Elmer's class or the one behind him are as good as him.

Can't waste Nelson 's redshirt, but he will be starting next year.

I'm genuinely not sure Nelson is a better option, but why can't his redshirt be wasted? To possibly be able to preserve something in 2018?

"Stanford feeling better about its offense, after a dismal performance against Notre Dame."

Yes, it was a matter of Stanford performing "dismally"; it had nothing to do with the Notre Dame defense.

Cardinal at a Crossroads: Is Stanford’s Golden Era Coming to a Close? «

Great Grantland article. Basically, Stanford has an inverted problem to what we have on defense, and frankly it's unclear if they'll ever get better unless Cryst/McAffery emerge as a dynamic duo and their OL retools to being dominant.

Best quote in the article about Stanford's steep decline:
The fan base doesn’t live and die with the fate of the football team or threaten to turn into a talk-radio tinderbox when the record begins to flatline. It ceases to exist.

Also, Stanford currently has the #62 class in the country, and is trending heavily towards missing on some very good players that were almost "locks" for them before the season. Their best player is a composite 90 rating.

Their entire future right now depends on whether Keller Chryst and Christian McCaffrey can carry the team.

... if they can convince KJ Costello that he is the Messiah. If I were him, I'd go there. It's the best situation in the country to quickly become the starter at a quality program.

Or to become the skipper of a sinking ship.

Or to become the skipper of a sinking ship.

While everyone likes to win and that could be the case in Stanford's future, Costello is the type of talent that doesn't have to worry about the beauty contest aspect of recruiting and should go some place that will prepare him for the NFL. The fact that he gets a degree, or 3 years towards a degree at a school like Stanford is a huge bonus.
