Golson has some issues and these last 2 games show that but he has a lot of resilience. RB's too timid and and that Oline is bad. Elmer is bad right now and there is nothing else to say about that. 1/2 Golson and 1/2 Oline for this game. That's the simplistic version but true.
Yup, Shaw bitched about officiating. PAC 12 officials on the field, but not in the replay booth. Said he was disappointed with Robinson replay
Plus Oregon from Thursday..
Seriously, fuck Mayock. Usually I think he does a decent job breaking everything down, but WTF was with him today? He was just awful. "I don't know if he got a facemask there..." 1 second later the video confirms he had all kinds of facemask. "No way did he catch that ball, this one is going to be overturned," despite the fact his hands were underneath it the whole time. What a putz, does he need glasses?
His bullshit in 2012 with the final play is why it's still talked about as a "controversy." Of course a ball carrier is going to make a final lunge at the end zone once the whistle has already sounded and the defense is celebrating! Mayock can go ahead and get Ebola next time we play Stanford at home.
Seriously, every game break the commentators were talking about the 2012 "controversy." Bullcrap. As much as I drink the green Kool Aid, I can be very objective and call a spade a spade. The Irish had that stop in 2012, the whistle blew, and Stanford was short of the goal line. Besides, that TD would have only tied the game, but it didn't matter, because Tree didn't get it. Get over it, Stanford.
Thecardboard meltdown is delicious
I feel like I watched Mcconaughey Lincoln ads for nothing.
I can only imagine the lengths to which the refs are going to go on this drive to give ND the game.
They might actually start blocking for them.
We bi**ch about the officiating every time we lose a game. Am I the only one who thinks that is getting a little old?I resisted complaining about the refs for years. But with ND, there is a long pattern, regardless of whether we are playing home or away. With other schools, there are bad calls both ways that could be argued affected the game.
Oh, so that's an intentional grounding huh refs?
What a bunch of crooked Evil perpetrators.
Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Oh well.
This game was fixed and there is nothing that can convince me it wasn't. I hope we break up the rivalry with the Fighting Hunchbacks and never play them again.
ND has been called for one penalty, stanford has been called for eight
ND OL are holding, holding, HOLDING
Guys, I know we had some calls go against us, but we also played horribly on offense and didn't do enough on defense in the 4th quarter. We did not deserve to win that game.
Yup. There's also the fact that Stanford had 4 attempts to get it in convincingly from within the 5 and they were shut down. Shut. Down. We got our TD with a mutha f'in backup QB, no controversy. Suck it, Stanford!
In fairness, I'm still a little salty about the Bush Push.

Why is everyone saying that Mayock is bad? Isn't he commentating for the Stanford Television Network? Oh wait...
Like considering officiating?
Because that was USC. Not Stanford.
This thing is going to be won by whichever team strings together a miracle drive in the second half. If only we had some friends on the field...
First couple years I thought he was good, but did somebody on the ND football team sleep with his wife or what? Holy shit he's a hater.
Oh, I know. Just the way we lost it. I was making a joke about the implication (more BlackIrish's post than the one I quoted) that it was time for Stanford to get over it.
Really, though, still a little salty.

At the end of the game, I had my best dad moment ever. My 2.5 year old son and I were jumping up and down clapping. My nine month old was clapping in his high chair too. It was so incredible. Thank you ND Football! Go Irish!
