Congratulations to our warriors ... nine wins against eleven opponents breathing fire at the Gold Helmets ... pretty damm impressive. My game ball goes to Martini --- I'm pretty sure that he was dinged in the middle of the second quarter and warriored it out all game. We had other guys getting off the ground achey at different times as well --- glad Adams could hero it through, but don't understand why we don't play the other backs when he's hampered. Love should get a piece of a game ball too. Gotta play Stepherson as much as possible. Gotta run Wimbush in dedicated runs like quarterback draws --- it's really the only thing that he's really good at now. I'd think seriously about benching Mack, and getting Weishaar and the rookies his reps. ... weird that WE were the team penalized for a crack-back.

End of ramble

We held Navy to half their YPC average. They suck the possessions out of a game. Their defense is their offense. Three plays decided it was a close game. They rarely lose by getting blown out. It was frustrating to watch. Time to move on.

I do think we need to just schedule Navy as the first game every year though.

Dude seriously, we call a play with two guys you admit shouldn't have been used in that play call.. you called it a good play call... if the personnel isn't good for the call then it isn't a good call... know football.

DUDE SERIOUSLY!
Both plays were good calls by the respective coaches. On both plays there was a defender that made the passer hurry the throw disrupting the play. Part of the game. Defenders are supposed to make plays. Trumbetti beat his blocker and made a great defensive play. The navy pass rusher wasn't touched by an ND blocker. That's no Wimbush's fault nor Mack's, Long, nor Kelly but a variety of posters were quick to blame them all.

Yep, you are so much more knowledgeable than myself that a wide open TE for a 5 hard pass is a bad play call, lol.

I hope that this off-season BW can work on his passing. Win or lose these next few games that’s something has to be done.

Yeah, so much so that you admit bad personnel, and the play doesn't work......................

Winning is better than losing but damn it is frustrating sometimes. 10 shaky quarters of football since we went into the half against Wake.

Take a deep breath, and hopefully a swig of whatever you're drinking and just picture this moment had we lost.........

You're welcome.

Navy was the excuse this week. What about the two weeks before that?

Its funny how the same player they mentioned as having a career day in tackles almost cost them the game in pass coverage

I will post this in the post game thread as well but can someone with coaching experience explain to me how it appeared ND had 2 guys on the pitch man but no one on the QB on several plays. Was the QB player getting blocked? If so, is this not like basketball where when a man gets picked, the defense needs to shift?

Best part was it was the exact same playcall that we got against USC for a huge first down. Lauded as an excellent playcall at the time, by everyone.

Keep moving those goal posts.................. a play call from a month ago has nothing to do with today against a totally different opponent in a totally different scenario... anyway, I know you know your stuff, sorry if I came off as otherwise, I may have, as I was super-mad today, but you admit it's bad personnel in a key spot... my whole point is you don't depend on that in a key spot... that's it. Lean on your best/ most dependable, especially against a 'lesser oppoenent'.

I hope this off season Finke learns how to fair catch the ball. I think if any of us sees him in person we need to wave like this

we need to teach him.

Ha. My big takeaway as well. It’d be ideal if they could play them early in the season every year with fresher bodies. Of course, you could say that about playing any team.

Boykin looked good again. Safe hands. Good target for Wimbush.

Maybe he's watched one too many of Zibby's highlights.

The D did their job. Frustrating at times but they’re always going to get their yards. The O is just lost. Three 3 & outs can’t happen vs one of the worst Ds in FBS. Not to mention settling for a FG.

ND should definitely tell Navy that they’ll continue to schedule them forever w/ one caveat being it must be the opener.

The defense did enough to win but had they just wrapped up and kept their legs driving on contact, Navy wouldn't have done a thing all day. Frustrating to watch them get to spots and give up an extra hard or three on basically every single play. Those extra yards were the only thing keeping their drives alive.

Is actually drop Stanford and schedule Navy as our season ender somewhere warm for the odd-years with USC. In the other years, I would play them in the middle of the season right before the bye week.

San Diego or Jacksonville. Does Navy have a presence in South Florida?
